If you do that you will then likely wonder why you are getting so many rejections…..or worse yet……no response at all. This module focuses on customizing your materials.

Human Resource departments will check your references to make sure that you are being honest about your skill sets and work history.  That is why it is important to select references carefully.  Who should you select and who should you avoid?  And, should you list your current employer as a reference?

Your cover letter is your opportunity to showcase yourself and market your skills.  We will review the four basic components of an effective cover letter and how you can write one that will help you get noticed by an employer.

It is estimated that 70% of companies are using application tracking systems to screen resumes before any human being sees them.  In this session, you will learn about the importance of keywords that will allow your application to move to the next step and common errors people make that will almost always guarantee a rejection.

A person's credentials can look very strong on paper, but they can still lose the job by the way they interview. In this session, we will cover everything from what you say, what you wear, and how to respond to some of the questions you are likely to get.

Even though your interview is over, there are things you can still do to promote yourself to the hiring manager.

Congratulations, you’ve been invited for a second interview. You’ve cleared one big step….but this is not the time to let your guard down. You will learn how the second interview is different than the first one and what you need to know. We will review the questions you may be asked.

You won't get every job offer you want. We review some of the top reasons why people don't get the jobs you want and lessons you can take away from the experience that will better prepare you for your next steps.

Discussing your salary request may make you feel uncomfortable.  But, we look at strategies that you can use to obtain the best possible compensations from a new employer.
