Time commitment theory explains how much you rotate from your on-guard stance, favoring shorter, less committed techniques to control distance and recovery.
identify the three stages of learning—synchronization with self, synchronization with others, and live environment application—then advance from mechanics and economy of motion to sparring, refining tools with focused practice.
Bruce Lee's three stages of cultivation—partiality, fluidity, and emptiness—progress from extremes toward integration, culminating in Jeet Kune Do's no-style, empty form.
Explore the Jeet Kune Do principle of no way as way and no limitation as limitation, emphasizing adaptable, open-minded self-expression beyond preset paths and styles.
Embrace reality based training in Jeet Kune Do by training against resistance, practicing self-defense scenarios, and training environmental contexts outside the dojo for practical fighting.

Explore directness in jeet kune do, using straight line attacks such as the straight punch and teep to intercept opponents, while recognizing indirect options and the goal of escape.
Embrace simplicity in Jeet Kune Do, stripping complexity to core concepts like economy of motion and the closest weapon to the nearest target.
Learn non telegraphic movement to intercept opponents without telegraphing, analyze common telegraphs like eye focus, closed fists, and body position, and train economy of motion, rapid initiation, and feints.
Develop economy of motion in Jeet Kune Do by eliminating wasted energy, generating power from the ground, and aligning the whole body for straight punches, kicks, and efficient footwork.
Learn non-classical Jeet Kune Do, moving beyond fixed 1973 forms; absorb what works, reject what doesn't, and develop your own expression from Bruce Lee's principles.
Explore broken rhythm in jeet kune do, detailing rhythm, cadence, and tempo to time attacks, break the pace, and use feints and varied punches to control sparring.
Explains the closest weapon to the nearest target concept in Jeet Kune Do, using lead hand and lead leg to intercept and control distance for fast, efficient strikes.
Explores the falling step and burning step as weight-driven, momentum-based techniques that accelerate straight lead punches and kicks, emphasizing hand-before-foot mechanics, gravity, and launch pad energy for powerful strikes.
Learn the hammer principle: drop the lead hand from the en garde stance to strike under the opponent’s line of sight, shortening distance and reducing reaction time.
whip both sides of your body with the shoulder world principle to generate power from the ground and accelerate punches and kicks through dual action.
Learn the power line concept in Jeet Kune Do, aligning bottom three knuckles from the ground up, and driving power through the hips, legs, and rear foot for efficient strikes.
Explore breaking down gikondo terminology including stop hit, time hit, time attack, and counter time, and learn how to intercept, divert, and bait responses to open opponents.
Learn the hand before foot principle for faster, less telegraphed punches by moving the hand toward the target first and letting the body follow, training with resistance bands and drills.
Learn the beat in Jeet Kune Do: use hand hits to gauge reactions, set up direct or indirect attacks, and control distance with beat parry and footwork.
Learn renewed attacks in Jeet Kune Do with remiss, redoublement, and reprise to continue after a failed first attack, applying to punches and kicks.
Explore reposts and compound attacks, learning to counter an opponent’s move with fast, setup-driven responses, feints, parries, beats, and half-beat timing.

Master center line theory across judo, Wing Chun, and grappling: align to your opponent's center mass, protect your own line, and disrupt balance with precise footwork and center-line targets.
Learn sliding leverage inside and outside to control an opponent’s arms, cut the tool, and strike on the center line, with time hit timing across standing, grappling, and ground fighting.
Learn tactile awareness through energy drills, mastering responses to energy on the outside or inside of the arm, with tie untie hand-wrap drills for instant reflexes.
Learn to generate short-range power from the ground in all strikes, using the rear foot, hip rotation, and wrist mechanics—rooted in Jeet Kune Do and Wing Chun.
