At the 2011 China-India Summit, we were honored to have B.K.S Iyengar visit China. This was the last overseas visit of Guruji and the only public teaching in China, which had a profound impact on the spread of Iyengar Yoga in China. During this summit, Guruji spoke at length about his hopes for Iyengar Yoga and his vision for the spread of yoga in China. He poured all his more than 70 years of practice and 50 years of teaching experience into this summit. He explained in detail the very basic asanas and used his wisdom and experience to demonstrate the essence and beauty of yoga.
In this visit to China, Guruji also brought many of his outstanding disciples with him and asanas were personally demonstrated by the granddaughter of Guruji. It was very precious and very detailed. After this summit, Iyengar Yoga officially took root in China and has influenced tens of millions of yoga practitioners over the past ten years, and has officially brought yoga in China to the path of flourishing development. This is a landmark and epoch-making summit for yoga in China.
