Chapter 1 – The Special Boy (Simple Description)

The chapter begins with the Dursley family: Mr. Vernon, Mrs. Petunia, and their son Dudley. They are normal, ordinary people who dislike anything strange or magical.

For several days, they have been seeing mysterious things: people wearing strange cloaks, cats reading newspapers, and owls flying during the day. They don’t understand what is happening and feel confused.

At night, Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and Professor McGonagall arrive. They talk about Voldemort, the evil wizard who killed Harry Potter’s parents. However, Voldemort disappeared after trying to kill the baby Harry too.

Little Harry sleeps peacefully, unaware that he is a famous wizard and unaware of what happened to him. The Dursleys will have to raise him, even though they hate magic.
