What you'll learn

In this course, students build a foundation in Italian grammar and pronunciation rules and learn to communicate about basic, everyday topics. This is an integrated course- students improve proficiency in all four areas of communication (reading, writing, listening and speaking)
By the end of the course, students will be skilled in basic grammar, Italian pronunciation, reading and listening comprehension and they will be able to have a basic conversation in Italian with native speakers

Explore Italian greetings and formal versus informal speech. Introduce yourself, ask names and where you're from, then learn about the Italian alphabet, vowel and consonant sounds, and avere forms.

Learn to introduce people, ask how someone is, discuss professions, birthdays, dates, days, months, seasons, and Italian articles and sentence forms (affirmative, negative, questions).

Explore Italian adjectives to describe people, discuss nationality, colors, hair and eye color, and body parts, then learn adjective agreement, noun irregularities, and three verb conjugation groups with practice exercises.

Description

This course is designed for students with no previous study of Italian language. In this course, students build a foundation in Italian grammar and pronunciation rules and learn to communicate about basic, everyday topics. This is an integrated course- students improve proficiency in all four areas of communication (reading, writing, listening and speaking)-. Grammar structures and vocabulary are learned not as an end in and of themselves, but as a means to acquiring ability in these areas. By the end of the course, students are able to:

• Understand and accurately use language relating to areas of most immediate relevance--basic personal and family information, shopping, employment, etc.

· Communicate effectively in order to accomplish routine tasks

· Participate in a simple conversation about everyday topics

· Describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need

• Read and pick out important information from authentic texts (e.g. menus, signs, schedules, etc.)

Who this course is for:

People with no previous experience of Italian language (beginners), but who are aimed to learn Italian language through a communicative method in order to be able to speak and understand basic Italian language by the end of the course.
Example: students of languages, travellers, businessmen or businesswomen, people who love Italian language and who want to learn it just for pleasure
