ISO 14001 is an internationally recognized standard for environmental management systems (EMS). International Organization for Standardization (ISO) published the standard in September 2015. The transition period of 3 years is now over. Companies have to either upgrade or work on the newer version ISO 14001:2015. The older version ISO 14001:2004 is no longer valid. Companies have to upgrade the environmental management system (EMS) to the latest standard.
