The CISSP certification exam is a computer-based test consisting of up to 150 multiple-choice and advanced innovative questions. The number of questions may vary as the exam includes 25 unscored questions randomly distributed throughout the exam for research purposes. The exam duration is 3 hours. The passing score for the exam is 700 out of 1000 points. The exam tests the candidate's knowledge in the eight domains of the CISSP Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) mentioned earlier. It is important to note that the exam is adaptive, meaning that the difficulty of the questions is adjusted based on the test-taker's performance, with harder questions being presented to those who answer previous questions correctly.
