Requirements

  • Students should have basic Understanding of OSI Model , IPv4 and Subnetting Knowledge prior to this course.
  • Students should know little bit about Routing Protocols

Description

IPv6 is a new and improved version of the IP protocol. One of the main benefits of IPv6 versus IPv4 is that it provides a pool of nearly unlimited IP addresses. Other improvements include more efficient routing and stateless address auto-configuration. It not only solves the problem of address limitation, but also brings other improvements to the IP protocol, like autoconfiguration on routers and improved security, among others.

It is a short course which will provide good knowledge about IPv6. We all know that IPv6 is the future because existing IP version i.e. IPv4 is almost full. Most of the companies have already used IPv4 so they are switching towards IPv6. You will also learn IPv4 vs IPv6 difference.

Many of us think that it is very difficult to learn IPv6. But, It is not that tough in reality. Though it is of 128 Bit but once you understand the basic fundamentals then it becomes very easy. Once you know How to use it, then you can start using it in your routing protocols.

The first step to understanding IPv6 is to appreciate the forces that have driven the need for a new internet protocol. Thus, the chapter begins by describing the market and networking needs that have motivated the design of IPv6.

Some of the things you will learn in the course includes  IPv4 vs IPv6 difference, Understanding of IPv6 Address , IPv6 Address Format, ipv6 link local address, How to enable IPv6 & disable IPv6 and many more.
