Explore how to perform hair removal with intense pulsed light, including tools, techniques for body areas, and male treatment using an IPL machine suitable for beauticians.

  • Accreditation0:57

Learn accreditation essentials for IPL hair removal by confirming licensure requirements with authorities, as laws vary by country and state; a certificate supplements your license, and jurisdiction checks are necessary.

  • What is IPL hair removal treatment?1:30

IPL uses intense light pulses to target and destroy hair follicles, slowing growth. It differs from laser; dark hair on light skin provides contrast, though regrowth can occur from hormones.

Select filter wavelengths for hair depth: 690 nm for deep dark hairs, 640 nm for medium, 590 nm for superficial, and 530 nm for facial hair, per machine instructions.

  • Machine handle1:03

Explore the IPL machine handle, pulse counter up to 100,000, the green release button, and correct filter insertion to set the proper wavelength and prevent burning.

  • Gel2:36

Use ultrasound gel with a thick consistency—the same gel doctors use—for IPL hair removal, spreading it with a wooden stick. Avoid serums or glycerin; buy in bulk.
