Module One Homework:
In your journal, write down 8 words that come to mind for each for the following elements:
Earth
Air
Fire
Water
After you write out your conscious impressions, go ahead and use the guided meditation in the download section to tap into your subconscious impressions of each of the elements. Add any impressions to your journal.
MODULE TWO HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT:
Go through your chosen deck, and make five piles that speak to the five emotions above. My suggestion is that you do this quickly - you don't have to "spend time" with each card -- simply look at it and quickly put the card in one of your "emotion piles".
Write down which cards triggered what emotion in your Intuitive Tarot Journal.
Look at the cards from each pile, starting with your "Anger" pile, and see what similarities they have. (For example, are they all swords? Do they feature the same dominant color? Is there a certain image that triggers you?) Document your findings in your journal.
Finally, review the cards for their differences, for each emotion. (Note: Don't worry if you didn't find a card for each emotion. Also, if there are other emotions that pop up for you, great! You are not limited to the five I mentioned.)
Welcome to Module 3!
In this module we are going to dive into the Minor Arcana. These cards represent the everyday life events we all go through and are represented by all Ace-10 cards.
YOUR ASSIGNMENT:
Create three piles:
1) One for Major Arcana
2) One for court cards (paiges, knights, queens, and kings.)
3) One for Minor Arcana Cards (Aces-tens)
Go through the Minor Arcana Pile and find any cards that stick out to you that you can connect with a particular time or event in your own life. You do not have to live for every card but the more you can associate your own life within the cards, the better connected you will become.
Once you find the cards, make not in your tarot journal what cards they are and what event or situation you associate with them. Share the emotions that were present, the thoughts going through your head at the time, and the lesson learned.
Your Next Assignment:
Still working with only the minor arcana cards, do a reading for yourself (or for someone else!) by pulling a card for the next 7 cards, one for each day for the next 7 consecutive days. In this exercise, I want you to become the storyteller. If you are doing a reading for yourself, speak out loud the story of what the cards are telling you. And most importantly, let your intuition guide you!
What are the energies present?
What are the emotions you feel will be incorporated into the week?
Welcome to Module Four!
In this module, we are going to dive into the court cards. The Cards belong to the Minor Arcana, but their position in totally unique and they are able to stand on their own. These cards represent humanity. This includes all of the people in our lives, all relationships, as well as the many layers of ourselves.
Tarot has the ability to share not only the characteristics and traits of individuals, but to show us the sides of ourselves that need nurturing and assistance. The court cards are the actors and the various roles that we souls, play.
The Court Cards can represent 3 things:
People
Archetypes
Energies
In this module we are going to dive into these 3 aspects and get
to know the court cards on an intimate level. Let's go!
MODULE FOUR HOMEWORK:
1. Go through each of the Court Cards (Paige, Knights, Queens, and Kings) Spread them out in front of you so you can see all of them. Look at your Court Cards. Do you see any familiar faces? Who would you choose to be your mother? your sister? your partner? your best friend? You will find many of the Court Cards within the people you are closest with. Right down all of your impressions and who each court card represents in your journal.
2. Now it is time to uncover the second layer of the court cards. The Archetypes. These are the archetypal energies present in our everyday life. Below you will find the list of the most common archetypes and the ones we will be working with in this exercise.
The Shadow
The Worker
The Thief
The Friend
The Sister
The Brother
The Teacher
The Trickster
The Control Freak
The Boss
The Goddess
The Warrior
The Vampire
The Seeker
The Anxious One
The Wise One
The Poet
The Addict
The Golden One
The Healer
The Mistress
The Assasin
The Victim
The Censor
Begin scanning the chapters of your life. Imagine yourself as the story teller. Who were the leading the actors? What was your role as the protagonist? What is the current chapter like? Jot down roles you have experienced from others or within yourself. Especially ones that continue to repeat over and over again. Match each role with a specific court card.
3. The third exercise is to help you tune into the energy of each of the court cards. Instead of characters or archetypes, begin seeing what the energy of the card says to you. Assign each of the court cards a verb. What is the action or mood of the card? Study the body language, faces, colors, and settings to receive clues.
Welcome to Module Five
In this module, we are going to dive deeper into the court cards and begin to understand them as archetypes.
YOUR HOMEWORK:
Look through the various archetypes listed on the PDF in the download section. Decide what archetypes you have already been, as well as the archetype you are now.
Going through all 16 of the court cards, begin matching them to different archetypes provided in the PDF.
Find the court cards that you chose in yesterday assignment (your present card and future self card) and in your Tarot journal, begin sharing both the light and shadow aspects of the cards.
Continue step three with all of the other remaining court cards.
Welcome to Module Six!
In this module, we are going to dive into the Major Arcana.
MODULE SIX HOMEWORK:
Gather all the Major Arcana cards from your deck of choice and lay them all out in front of you. Allow your intuition to guide you to one card - the card you are naturally drawn to. After you choose the card, go back and look at the remaining cards to see which cards leaves you feeling uncomfortable, or triggered. These cards represent you in the present moment. What do these cards say about the current chapter of your life? What you fighting? What lesson are you learning? Write any notes and/or impression in your journal.
In your journal, write down 10-15 important "this is when everything changed" moments from your life. Once you have written them all down, choose a card for each of the moments (yes, you can use one card for more than one experience.) This exercise is going to help you resonate with the cards, as well as the souls journey on a much deeper level. Be sure to add the card you choose next to each of the moments listed.
Do a Past, Present, and Future spread for yourself or someone else. Be sure to write down your impressions and the chapter/event that each card represents for you.
Welcome to Module Seven
In this module, we are going to work with the numerology of the minor arcana.
To begin, makes piles of aces-tens. Take a look at each of the four cards. What word comes to mind when examining these four cards? What is the underlying theme of the number? Write down all of your impressions in your tarot journal.
After you go through every pile, think of something you enjoy doing. (Example - baking a cake!)
Now go ahead and write the steps 1-10 down in your tarot journal as well.
After you write out the steps, take a look at all of your notes and see any similarities or any impressions that arose throughout these exercises.
Welcome to Module 8!
In this final module, we are going to learn more about how to bring the magic of Tarot into your everyday life!
