- Obtain an entry level position as a Surveillance Investigator specific to working Workers' Compensation Insurance Investigations. Students will also be able to more effectively obtain stationary surveillance video as well as covert video of claimants. Students will also receive educational credit towards their own Private Investigator license.

Description
This course will provide a foundation for anyone who is interested in the Private Investigation industry. After countless job interviews of prospective investigators and peace officers I decided to help answer that one question that is on every oral board or job interview that everyone struggles with……..”What have you done to prepare yourself for this interview?” This course will not only prepare you for a job interview in the investigative field, but it will equip you with the knowledge necessary to step out and begin to perform workers' compensation investigations in a 500 BILLION dollar industry.
This course is primarily tailored for workers' compensation investigations mainly due to the large demand from insurance companies for suitable investigators. Many of the investigative tips translate to all areas of private investigation. This course covers the following topics: Basics of Surveillance, Equipment, Report Writing, Stationary Surveillance, Mobile Surveillance and Personal Safety. This course is taught through the use of the written lectures, videos and at the conclusion of the material a knowledge test is administered. The videos in this course will demonstrate where to position your surveillance vehicle, how to “black out” and various equipment that is needed to perform these investigations. I take you behind the scenes and inside the surveillance vehicle.
A course completion certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of this course. This certificate can be used for 8 hours of educational credit towards the student's individual private investigator license. Student who take this course will also be able to more effectively obtain stationary surveillance video, covert video of claimants as well as have a general knowledge on writing an investigative report for workers' compensation investigations. Students who elect to enroll in this course will also be awarded priority for additional training at a lower cost and receive free informational updates with regard to the Private Investigation industry.

- This course is designed for anyone who is interested in obtaining information regarding the Private Investigative Industry. This course is specific to Workers' Compensations Investigations, however the course material applies to many other areas of the Private Investigator Industry. Students who complete the course will receive a certificate for 8 hours of training that can be used for obtaining an individual Private Investigator license.

I have completed a six month POST (Peace Officer in Standards and Training) certified California course in 2001. I had been a sworn peace officer for almost thirteen years. I achieved the title of Sergeant at the Shasta County Marshal's Office. I have supervised as many as twenty police officers and 10 support staff at any given time. My investigative experience has consisted of investigation in the criminal and civil side of law. I have conducted investigations that were criminal in nature in the following areas:
Death Investigations, Credit Card Fraud, Burglary, Disability and Worker's Compensation Fraud, Employee embezzlement, Assault with Deadly Weapons, Simple Assault, Domestic Violence, Forcible Rape, Possession of Illegal Drugs including Surveillance of Suspected Offenders, Possession of Illegal Weapons, False Police Reports, Driving Under the Influence and Cultivation of Marijuana for Sales.
I have conducted investigations that were non-criminal in nature in the following areas:
Violations of Business Policy and Procedure, Citizen's Complaints, Pre-Employment Background Investigations, Civil Service, Industrial License Compliance, Unfaithful Spouses, Improper Business Practices, Sexual Harassment, Desperate Treatment Complaints and Criminal Background Checks.

Over the last thirteen years I have attended numerous law enforcement related schools and classes. I have attended over 1,000 hours in law enforcement instruction. I currently hold certificates in the following law enforcement related fields: Field Training, Supervisor, Drug recognition, DEA over flight and narcotics investigation, Gangs and gang awareness, POST certified narcotics investigation, POST Certified Arrest and Control Instructor, DOJ Executive Protection, Active Shooter and taser instructor. I am also certified to teach CCW in Shasta, Lassen and Tehama County.
I currently hold California POST Certificates. These include a Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced levels as well as a POST Supervisory certificate. I have been to an 80 hour POST certified Supervisor core course in which I hold a certificate of completion.
I am currently licensed as a Private Investigator in the following states: California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Montana, Nevada and Idaho.
