I am a women's historian and an educator, having taught in the college and university environment for almost ten years and at the high school level four years. In addition, I've worked as a history specialist for seventeen years. I have a passion for women's history and I think everyone needs to hear and understand the stories, regardless of age or education level. I was stunned when I sat through my first women's history course. Where had all of these stories and women been when I was going to school? Why didn't I know about them? It is imperative in the 21st century that women know and understand their history in the United States as a way to better understand how certain laws, beliefs, and customs continue to impact their lives to this day. And they can draw inspiration from the actions of the women of the past. Everyone needs to know this information -- not just women! So I am attempting to provide numerous women's history courses to the general public.
