Introduction to Parametric Design: Grasshopper
What you'll learn
- How to use Grasshopper to do procedural and parametric.
Requirements
- No, this course is intended for complete beginners.
- Have Rhino3d ideally version 6>
Description
You will learn how to use procedural and parametric design using Grasshopper for Rhinoceros3d to create simple to intermediate definitions. At the end of this course you will be familiar with the concepts used in the industry for advanced computational design workflows, understand how to create complex relations between objects and how to structure your thought for developing programs that produce this kinds of procedures.
From start to intermediate you will learn how to navigate the Grasshopper's UI up to how to create custom code to produce complex geometry.
Who this course is for:
- Architects, engineers, designers and anyone else who wants to learn Grasshopper from scratch.
Instructors
I started my career as an architect, but later on decided that developing software for designers and engineers was my thing. I am currently a candidate at the University of London Computer Science Bachelor's.
I have been programming for more than 5 years and know C++, Python, JavaScript, C# and GLSL.
I have experience with multiple 3D modeling softwares, including HoudiniFX, Maya and Rhinoceros3d/Grasshopper. My experience with programming allows me to extend the functionalities of the software through plugins. I also write some tools from scratch, specially for graphics and simulations.
When I am not working in GIS or computational design tools, I like to program videogames and interactive graphics.
