This course provides training in the requirements of ISO/IEC 17020: 2012 'Conformity Assessment - Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection. It commences with an overview of the principles of Quality Management and improvement in the context of an inspection body, provides an overview of ISO/IEC 17020 followed by a detailed discussion on each requirement. The course also provides an overview of typical quality management system structures and on the steps required to implement the standard and to obtain accreditation.
Short quizzes are included at the end of each modules as part of the video presentation to test your knowledge. Answers are provided in subsequent slides. These quizzes are not 'automated' at present.
It would be useful if participants have a copy of ISO/IEC 17020:2012 when taking the course. Unfortunately this can not be provided as part of the course materials for copyright reasons.

Tim Is the Director of Qualimetric Ltd in the UK. Formerly he was a Managing Partner of Excel Partnership and of BywaterExcel Ltd.
Specialising in the application of ISO/IEC 17025, 17020 and ISO 15189, Tim designs and delivers auditor training and consultancy to help organisations, both in the UK and overseas, understand and meet the requirements of those standards as well as providing audit and consulting services. He also provides training and consulting services in measurement systems analysis, statistical process control and measurement uncertainty.
After his initial career in the petrochemical and nuclear sectors, Tim worked for the Design Council as manager of product evaluation and test and for number of international consultancy and training organisations. He advised on the establishment of several third party certification schemes as well as running audit and surveillance activities on behalf of third party certification bodies.
Tim has acted as a lead assessor for a number of third party certification and accreditation bodies such as BSI and LRQA and for NATLAS/NAMAS (now UKAS). He was Managing Director of a leading management consultancy in South East Asia taking it from start up to turnover in excess of £1m. He has worked in a variety of industries including construction, manufacturing, software, laboratories, electronics, automotive and the service sector.
Tim qualified from UMIST, UK with a BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering. He is a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng), a Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, an IRCA registered Lead Auditor, a Fellow of the Chartered Quality Institute and a Member of the American Society for Quality. He is the Author of "A Manager's Guide to ISO 9000" (Times Publications).
