Introduction to Creature Sculpting In Zbrush
What you'll learn
- The student will learn the basic tools of Zbrush and how to navigate inside the program. They will also learn how to build their own model from scratch in Zbrush using a variety of techniques that they can apply to modeling their own creations. They will also learn how to then take the finished Zbrush asset and use it in other programs for rendering a completed, full color, piece of art to present.

Description
In this course you'll learn how to build a Grey Alien character from scratch in Zbrush using a variety of methods. First I'll show you how Zspheres can be an effective tool for building your own mesh to sculpt on. Then we'll move on to the blockout stage of the sculpt where I'll show you methods for defining the shape of your character using the tools in Zbrush. We'll then continue in Zbrush and refine and finish the sculpture and painting and posing. You'll also learn about using keyshot or similiar render engines to achieve a nice, professional render that will later be composited in photoshop for a final illustration to be presented in your portfolio.

- A beginner who is interested in creating something from start to finish in Zbrush and end with a fully completed piece of art to present to clients or to add to your portfolio
Instructor
Josh Crockett is a creature and character artist for the film, tv, gaming, and publishing industries. Josh started 3D in 2002 and has been hooked ever since. He started using Zbrush in 2009. His work has been featured numerous films such as Spiders 3D, Lavalantula, Welcome to Willits, Zoe, The Dark Tapes, American Horror Story, Extant the series and he was lead designer on the Stan Against Evil for the IFC channel for season 1 and 2. Josh is also currently a published artist at Daz3D. Josh continues to expand his sense of design and push himself as an artist.
