Learn the one handed fan by practicing with half the deck after a swing cut, establish the grip, move the thumb to the corner, and close the fan smoothly.
Master the thumb cut, a fundamental one-handed cardistry move similar to a Charlier cut. Position the deck, reach with the thumb, split, pull down, then close.
Master the one-handed deck flip from dealer's grip, practice with cards in the box or with a rubber band, and use a clumpy old deck to prevent cards from flying.
Master the riffle shuffle by learning the grip, interlacing cards with both hands, and forming the bridge with thumbs on top, while practicing for a smooth, one-at-a-time release.
Learn the instant replay move to shoot a card from one hand to the other. Refine grip and finger pressure, practicing until it lands on top of the deck.
Master the one handed triangle by starting with the Charlier cut, form a triangle from the packets with your index finger, pinky, and thumb, then close the cut.
Hold the deck with the thumb cone and three fingers near the corner, apply tension, relax the thumb, then shoot; keep the pinky at the back to catch and square.
Practice mixing moves like a single card open, a Charlier cut, an instant replay, and a deck flip to build fluency, acknowledging cardistry as a difficult skill.
