The Emblem of Being Blissful / Anandmaya Dhyana is a Lotus with a spectrum of colors. This Emblem resonates with the ideology of our program. All of us have 7 major energy centers in our body known in yogic science as Chakras. Each of these Chakras is represented in the shape of a Lotus Flower and is associated with a color. A journey through the seven chakra colors is essentially a journey through the rainbow.
Each of the seven chakras has a corresponding color that follows the colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet (or white). The colors are fluid, constantly changing just as your emotions change. The color of a chakra indicates your current physical, emotional, and spiritual state. The red lotus symbolizes the original nature of the heart.
It is the lotus of love, compassion, passion, activity and all the qualities of the heart. The white lotus symbolizes wisdom, the state of total mental purity and spiritual perfection. The blue lotus is the symbol of the victory of the Atma over the senses of intelligence and wisdom of knowledge.
During the anandmaya Dhyan you will experience subtle, but powerful changes, on an energetic level helping you feel more harmony, balance, and equilibrium in your own energy. Just be present with an awareness of your intention of what it is you wish to receive from this program, you are already setting yourself in a new & blissful direction. And when you get there, you will discover yourself, like a lotus flower in full bloom, even in a muddy pond, beautiful and strong.
Stress is primarily a physical response that has helped us to survive in a flight or fight situation.
The challenge, however, is when the state of stress manifests in daily life at detrimental levels such as for students in classrooms, parents pushing their children to do better in school, people struggling in their interpersonal relationships, or employers setting hard deadlines for their employees. These result in disturbing the flow of energy in our system and mis balancing the harmony. We experience tension, fear of failure, and feeling of being inefficient giving rise to anger, frustration, depression, confusion, jealousy, and loneliness.
Modern medicine cures these symptoms and makes us dependent on it to regulate our systems. Being Blissful Meditation (BBM) on the other hand allows one to have Consciousness Power Awakening (Chidshakti) and realize our true nature, our true potential. It smoothens our inner systems allowing us to respond and not react in situations.
Bliss is Anand or the ultimate joy. Being Blissful means Anandamaya. Anandamaya
is the ultimate love, the ultimate state of blissful life, where all the dualities,
dilemmas and sorrows are extinguished, where there is freedom from happiness and
sorrow, which is beyond negative-positive, which means Knowing yourself, joyfully
and experiencing total presence. Anandamaya means eternal joyful state, no
dependence on anyone for happiness. Blissfulness is beyond emotions, beyond
dualities, beyond qualities and beyond time. Blissfulness is your eternal nature.
Don’t leave this world without realizing it. What is being blissful? Blissfulness is
inherent in every person. It is eternal, supremely joyful, flawless, divine and
magnanimous.

Meditation is: Uninterrupted Oneness in consciousness.
When our flow of concentration us Uninterrupted and we are connected with whatever we are concentrating on, then we naturally move towards meditation.
Meditation is a natural continuation of deepening of Concentration.
Concentration must precede Meditation because the mind must be focused before meditation can occur, that is why all techniques of meditation are, in one way or another, the techniques of effortless concentration that helps you slip into the meditative state,
Meditation is ultimate relaxation
Meditation means living in the moment
Meditation brings Supreme Knowledge
Meditation brings true liveliness
Meditation means beyond mind
No technique is required when meditation happens
Meditation is witnessing
To be with your True Self is meditation
Meditation is inner journey
Meditation is True celebrations
Meditation is lively silence
Meditation is insight
Meditation is happening
Meditation happens beyond name, form and position
Meditation means state of Lotus, untouched by worldly illusion
Meditation is ultimate paradise
Meditation is Freedom
Due to ignorance, anger, sadness, ego, etc. we do not come to know our eternal blissful nature. Our mind, ego and ignorance create obstructions in our being blissful.
Whole life is a joyous experience. But the average man uses only about 2 ~ 5 percent of his brain. The remaining possibilities are not known and life ends. Having blissful wakefulness has many physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual benefits. Some potential benefits are:
Physical: strength, immunity, work capacity, etc. increases. Different types of diseases like blood pressure, obesity, digestive tract damage, etc. can be removed.
Mental: The intellect, the thoughtlessness, the intensity, concentration, calmness, perseverance, morale, awareness, motivation, happiness, memory, concentration, confidence, success, etc. increases and stress, tension, pain, sorrow, depression, fear, loneliness, panic, anxiety are reduced.
Social: Social behavior improves and relations with family, business, job, society, etc. get balanced.
Spiritual: Opens the doors of self-realization.
Economical: Creativity, Strength, Achievements.
BBM is the science of living a wholesome life, BBM gets rid of all the troubles and sorrow of life. Knowing absolute bliss, supreme bliss, spiritual wisdom, and supreme consciousness, salvation and perception are attained. BBM is a full-blown enjoyable, scientific technique.
In this process, energy transformation plays an important role. It is not possible to know about your blissful nature just by reading. Therefore, personally, it should be duly learned from a master with reverence. Thirst cannot be quenched by reading even there is a golden letter, ‘water’. One needs real water. Similarly, BBM cannot be just reading. One needs to learn, practice and experience.
Option 1 for self-practice: Level 1 of this process can be learned in 5~10 hours only, and then you can practice regularly on your own. Without dedication, the dexterity and depth of the practice cannot be achieved. It’s the same as learning any new skill, like driving a car or a bike. Initially, you need to be under the supervision and later it all depends on the level of your practice. After learning, students are supposed to report back to the BBM teacher weekly or can come for practice/learning weekly. For 6 weeks student should report to the BBM teacher.
Option 2 for becoming BBM Teacher: Similarly, great hard work and perseverance are prerequisites to become a qualified teacher of BBM. After doing a 5-day intensive course, or 2 weeks on campus, students are supposed to do 40 days of continuous practice which is necessary.
We understand that time is the most precious commodity. We usually find no time for ourselves. If we take out just one minute from each hour of the day, we can spare 24 minutes for ourselves. These 24 minutes will bring fundamental change in your life that you will regret not having attended this course earlier.
The BBM Facilitator course can be completed in two ways.
1. 5 days intensive or
2. 15 days residential module with daily deeper meditation.
3. Both models of training require 40 days of rigorous and dedicated self-practice.
No difficult asanas are performed in BBM, only a few deeper and effective kriyas are performed with awareness to activate and awaken our Chid Shakti.
Some prior qualifications are necessary for any work to succeed.
For example, to take admission in the college, it is necessary to pass the high school examination, in the same way, following are the pre-qualifications for experiencing the ultimate results of BBM or becoming a teacher of BBM:
To receive more from your presence, there are 5 pre-qualification as stated by Yogic scriptures, for learning, practice and preaching in the Ashram:
1. Anushasan (Discipline, ruling the self, mastering the self). PYS1/1 ( chapter 1 Sutra No. 1 of Patanjali Yoga sutra(PYS)
2. Abhyas (intense practice) PYS 1.12
3. Samarpan (surrender) Gita 4.39
4. Shraddha (Trust) Gita 4.39
5. Vairagya ( detachment means total present) PYS 1.12
Continue with more presence and the Bliss is there.
Meditation should be taken like a Leela, which means divine play.
It's not some serious act like a dry desert.
It’s the art of crossing the barriers created by our mind, body, and intellect. Be present and enjoy this journey and you will start getting divine experiences.
False ego is a big obstacle in meditation.
Ø Infinity: Meditation is a journey from limitations to being limitless.
Ø Body consciousness to Soul consciousness: A journey beyond body and mind. Body-mind-senses travel towards soul and divine. But if the person is frightened and wants to cling on to his body and senses then he fails to experience the divinity.
Ø Fearlessness: The fear can happen to you but not to the divine in you. If you have to find Supreme Consciousness, then surely you have to lose yourself. Fear can happen to the river, not to the sea. Fear can happen to coal, not to the diamond.
Ø Thoughtlessness: Meditation is the act of removing the veil of thoughts that lie between your individual self and the supreme self. It is through meditation only that is to be woven with the thoughts of this inner thought. Thoughts are an illusion.
Ø Non-Duality: There is duality in our life. Good or bad, beautiful-ugly, happiness or sorrow, and so on. Getting rid of such ideas or to be free from duality is meditation. Meditation takes place at the time in which you are beyond dualities. The natural beauty of life, flowers, trees, sun-moon, river, ocean and you become one, beyond any words. Silent, when waves of thoughts calm down then meditation happens.
Ø Subject: Normally the focus of human beings is objective. But you will need to drop even the mind and after deep concentration stays in meditation, doing nothing, just be fully aware.
Ø Oneness: Only awareness of Oneness is meditation. Maharishi Patanjali says: तत्रप्रत्येकतानताध्यानं॥Tatra prtyektantaadhyanam||
Not to meditate but to go into meditation becomes a thing. There is no need to meditate on anybody, but in our hearts, reaching in meditation is to be aware.
Ø Egolessness: False ego and false seriousness seem to say that you are a great meditator. But the trickery of this clever mind turns you away from true meditation. Do not let your mind tell you to be serious about meditation. You can reach the meditative state with laughter, singing songs, sitting down or dancing. The way to become one with music and the ultimate sounds of the song is opened by meditation.
Ø Ultimate Relaxation: Meditation is not a miracle but an enjoyment. Absolute Joy which resides within you. Loving relaxation is the fragrance of meditation.
Ø Beyond Religion: Meditation is beyond religions of the world. It’s neither limited to Hindus nor Muslims or Christians or Jews. Meditation introduces you to your true self. Meditation is beyond caste, creed, culture, age, sex, religion or country.
Ø Absolute love: is a meditation that resides within you. Love is binding the entire universe without expectations or attachments or desires. Like flows with fragrance and gives to all equal and alike.
Ø Creativity is meditation. The sum of all of our experiences is a memory. But memory is not meditation. Imagination is a collection of thoughts and imagination is also not meditation. The society has given us the scope of certain thoughts. The mind thinks accordingly. The mind is either in the past or in the future. When the mind is in the past then it is dead, and the future is mere fiction. When you take control of your mind in meditation, then the mind simply disappears, and you will be available to the present moment. Meditation takes us to a restful state which is conducive to creativity or creative ideas.
Ø Awareness is meditation. If you get the duty to clean the floor every day, you can clean the floor in two ways.
First: You come in tension, pick up the broom with a shock, move the feet forward, irritate, rotate the broom while talking abusive, scrutinize the tentacles, fluttering around, cleaning the floor in a grumpy mood and complaining form.
Second: By understanding your duty, clean up the place of work, dancing, singing, smiling, spreading the happy atmosphere, with full awareness, consciousness, in the form of worship.
If you are asked which way is better? Your answer is definitely the second option. But in what way do you perform your duties in your own life. Your answer could be the first option! This brings imbalance in the life. You will become depressed because most of life is passing in a first way.
The second way becomes meditation, cleaning the floor will also be possible to clean the inner space and meditation will also occur. Total open and in harmony.
Ø Action without actor: If you are aware of all your actions walking, getting up, sitting, talking, every action and every moment, then you should become the focus of life.
Ø Righteousness is the only meditation: attaining the equanimity of mind and intellect is meditation and the philosophy of the Self.
Ø No Mind is Meditation means reaching no mind state. The experience of life moves through the mind and intellect. That’s why we keep on searching new ways to meditate. The techniques of meditation are helpful, but the techniques are not meditative. As soon as you reach your source using any technique, meditation takes.
Ø True Nature is Meditation is not a search or achievement, but it is your nature. Always with you. We do so much to establish our beliefs in mind, intellect and ego, but meditation is doing nothing means realizing own true nature.
Ø Emptiness: As soon as we become empty, means as soon as we surrender our false identities our energy turns inward, towards the source and we can immediately feel a sense of balance and peace within us.
Ø Desirelessness:Generally, our energy is moving towards outside objects. Desires for objects give rise to anger and malice, jealousy and hatred and we suffer. By going towards the center, we get balanced.
Ø Inner journey:Through courage and reverence, one can turn inward and meditation makes it easy. The seekers on inner journey are mocked by the world. People are interested in worldly objects and as soon as someone begins the journey of inner peace, he is subjected to ridicule.Thoughts also bombard in the beginning of the inner journey, but slowly thoughts start to dissolve.Inter journey gives ultimate results with patience and endurance.Seekers experience inner light which has no apparent source. The seer and scene disappear and only the light remains. With the practice of meditation, the mind becomes calm and pure.
Ø Beyond Time:In meditation the seeker reaches a state which is beyond time, emotions, ego and mind and is a state of sheer blissfulness.
Ø Shakti Awakening:Kundalini Shakti may also be awakened by meditation and many powers can also be attained.
Ø Meditation is the best Medication: Word Meditation and Medicine come from the same root. Meditation removes most of the complicated diseases of either mind or body.
Ø Meditation is playfulness: A good play is successful when the player merges with the play.
Ø Meditation is coolness
Ø Meditation is ultimate relaxation
Ø Meditation means living in the moment
Ø Meditation brings Supreme Knowledge
Ø Meditation brings true liveliness
Ø Meditation means beyond mind
Ø No technique is required when meditation happens
Ø Meditation is witnessing
Ø To be with your True Self is meditation
Ø Meditation is inner journey
Ø Meditation is True celebrations
Ø Meditation is lively silence
Ø Meditation is insight
Ø Meditation is happening
Ø Meditation happens beyond name, form and position

1. With Form / Saguna
2. Formless / Nirguna
In SagunaDhyan or Meditation on Form, the mind is stabilized by focusing on either a statue of God, picture of a Guru or any mantra to reach a state of meditation. The object of concentration can be:
1. Object - Meditation on the subject
2. Meditation on the body
3. Meditation on the breath
4. Meditation on the mind
5. Meditate on God, Master/ Guru, any idol or soul, focusing on the heart, focusing in between the eyebrows, or mantra or focusing on the front part of the nostrils, focusing on the process of incoming and outgoing breath.
Formless: Stabilizing your mind on the abstract and formless supreme consciousness without any belief is called formless meditation.
Some scholars have described meditation in three ways:
1. Gross body meditation,
2. Meditation with light,
3. Subtle body meditation.
1.Gross body meditation(SthoolDhyan): To put your consciousness in this meditation on the gross things such as a deity, idol, nature or heart chakra located inside the body.
2. Light Meditation (Jyothirdhyan): Centralize the consciousness in the form of light.
3. Subtle meditation (SukshmaDhyan): Putting your consciousness towards Param Shakti in Shambhavi Mudra is called subtle meditation.
Practice the asana, keeping the words of Maharishis in mind. Before and during the Asana, always:
1. Be happy.
2. Be alert.
3. Stay in the present.
4. Breathing stays normal (except for special conditions)
5. Be conscious.
6. Observe the impact of your practice as witness.
7. Be aware of your body’s limitations.
8. Maintain focus.
9. Stay aware of negative thoughts of your mind (don’t let negativity overpower you)
10. Do not look at others or think about others.
11. Keep your eyes closed except instructed otherwise.
12. Stay aware of the flow and impact of energy within your body.
13.Don’t be stressed.
14.Stay spontaneous before, during and after your practice.
15. For achieving maximum benefit from any asana, try to go deeper in your practice with complete surrender.
16.During menstruation or in some specific diseases, try to be less rigorous and reduce intensity.
17. Meditation is most effective when the stomach as well as mind is empty.
18. Try to begin slow and increase the time and repetitions as you start getting comfortable and your stamina improves.
19. Maintain dispassion towards external thoughts. This will lead you to greater depths of meditation.
20. Opening the eyes during meditation can lead to energy loss as much as 22% and chances of losing focus are quite high. So even if you find your experience overwhelming, keep eyes closed, continue your practice with full trust, faith and surrender.
21. Stay present all the time. When you are fully present with mind, body and senses, you reach into the depths of meditation easily.
22. Loneliness is scary, but aloneness opens the doorway to blissful experiences.
23. When you travel from external world towards your internal world, you experience divinity and you start seeing with your divine eyes.
Yantra: Yantra means Instrument. Our body is an instrument.
Often people do not know the body's all features. But Guru guide us,
and we need to know body's all features and utilize them for higher
awakening. A proper and full utilization of all possibilities of Yantra
lead us to know higher Yoga.
Tantra: Tantra means system. Like digestive system, nervous
system, etc., true knowledge of Tantra is highly helpful for living a
balanced life. Unfortunately, the word "Tantra" has been
misunderstood in the modern society. In India, there are highly
inspiring and educating stories for children, one among them is
called "Panch Tantra stories". A proper and full understanding of
Tantra is helpful in advance yoga learning.
Mantra: Mantra means software. Software is needed to operate the
system. Mind is a kind of software. If the software is properly
designed, it helps leading a proper and systematic life. But the mind
is mostly restless and imbalanced due to countless negativity all the
time during one's life. The mind is the best servant and the worst
master. Mastering the mind technique is hidden in Mantra. Now
modern science has also proved that Mantra is Power (Shakti).

What is Mind?
There’s a lot of confusion regarding the definition of the word Mind. Most definitions of mind are quite incomplete when it comes to explaining the meaning of mind. But yogic scriptures show no confusion and are quite clear about what mind actually is. Maharishi Patanjali has described mind to be a cumulative combination of five types of vrittis or tendencies or modifications which can either cause pain or pleasure. By knowing these 5 modifications one can start knowing one’s mind.
Mind is direct knowledge.
Mind is indirect knowledge.
Mind is imagination.
Mind is dream.
Mind is memory.
Mind is a flow.
Mind is invisible body and invisible entity.
Mind is a process.
We get to know about the world and our experiences through mind. Mind enables us to think, rationalize, believe and make decisions.
Yoga and meditation makes us aware of the powers of mind and help us to achieve the no mind state which is the real goal of all seekers.
Intellect is the boss of the mind. It is the power which lets us understand a particular subject, to find it’s relation with other subjects and also to use logic. It is the ability to differentiate between right and wrong. Intellect can be of three types:
Average
Excellent
Below average
How to utilize the powers of mind?
Mind is one but it manifests itself in two forms.Lord Krishna in Bhagwad Gita tell us that mind is the best friend and also the worst enemy. Mind can be your best servant but a worst master. Mind can make our life blissful but without understanding the powers of mind we live our life in a miserable way. It's very important that we understand the nature of mind, powers of mind and how to utilize the powers of our mind to know the purpose of our lives and find balance and harmony. The question is how to do that? One of the way to do that is through yoga and meditation.

The ability to differentiate between temporary and permanent is wisdom. That is there today but will perish tomorrow is called temporary and what has always been there and will always be there is permanent.
Yogic scriptures enlighten us about the manifestation of individual consciousness in five layers. Balance, harmony and symphony of these layers results in wholesome life which is free of diseases and full of bliss. These five bodies are:
1. AnnamayaKosh or gross body
2. PranmayaKosh or Breath Body
3. ManomayaKosh or Mind body
4. VigyanmayaKosh or Knowledge body
5. AnandmayaKosh or Bliss body
Nine obstacles create unrest and unease in human life and these are:
1.Disease
2.Mental inertia
3.Doubt/ indecisiveness
4. Sloth
5.Instability
6. Weakness
7. Carelessness
8.Desire
9. Error of judgement
Pain
Depression
Nervousness/ shaking of limbs
Agitated breathing
There are five main reasons of sorrows in one’s life:
1.Ignorance
2.Ego
3.Attachment
4.Hatred
5.Fear of dying
Usually people are scared of darkness, but when one practices sitting for meditation in darkness, he or she can find it easy to meditate. Darkness supports going deeper in meditation. It also helps to get rid of any fear of darkness and makes one fearless.
If you understand silence by keeping quiet then it would be a very limited definition of silence. Maun or silence implies not speaking in mind too. When one is silent from inside out then he or she experiences divine bliss and it becomes easy to hear your soul speak to you.
If we dissect the human body, we will not find the chakras. Chakras are energy
wheels. The word chakra is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning wheel. If we
were able to see the chakras (as many psychics, in fact, do) we would observe a wheel
of energy continuously revolving or rotating. Clairvoyants perceive chakras as
colorful wheels or flowers with a hub in the center. The chakras begin at the base of
the spine and finish at the top of the head. Though fixed in the central spinal column
they are located on both the front and back of the body, and work through it.
Chakras, energy centers interpenetrate the physical body.
Each chakra vibrates or rotates at a different speed. The root or first chakra rotates at
the slowest speed, the crown or seventh chakra at the highest speed. Each chakra is
stimulated by its own and complimentary colour. The chakra colours are of the
rainbow; red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. The size and brightness
of the wheels vary with individual development, physical condition, energy levels,
disease, and stress.
If the chakras are not balanced, or if the energies are blocked, the basic life force will
be slowed down. The individual may feel restless, tired or depressed. Not only
physical bodily functions will be affected, and diseases may manifest, but the thought
processes and the mind may also be affected. A negative attitude, fear, doubt, for
example may preoccupy the individual.
A constant balance between the chakras promotes health and a sense of well-being. If
the chakras are opened too much, a person could literally short circuit himself with
too much universal energy going through the body. If the chakras are closed, this
does not allow the universal energy to flow through chakras properly which may also
lead to dis-ease.
Most of us react to unpleasant experiences by blocking our feelings and stopping a
great deal of our natural energy flow. This affects the maturation and development of
the chakras. Whenever a person blocks whatever experience he is having, he in turn
blocks his chakras, which eventually become disfigured. When the chakras are
functioning normally, each one will be open, spinning clockwise to metabolize the
particular energies needed from the universal energy field.
Chakras are not visible through physical eyes or senses. That is why they were falling
under the category of mysticism. Due to the nature of this science, it remained a
long-held secret and Yogis knew this secret. However, they were imparting this secret
knowledge to others very carefully to prevent misuse. Sometimes there were
misconceptions about chakras; as a result, chakras remained out of reach for
common people. Yogis have found these energy wheels very useful for human health
and maintaining the balanced life. Most of the illnesses can be related to the
chakras imbalances. Balanced chakras result in balanced body, mind, senses, spirits,
emotions and life.
As per Kirlian photography, energy of the body permeates from our body known as
Aura. There are whirlpools of energy surrounding the body. This energy flows like
spinning wheels; hence these are called as chakras. Major chakras regulate major
bodily functions.
Blocked chakras bring imbalance in thoughts and attitudes. This further brings
physical diseases, negative thoughts, and faulty beliefs. Activating and balancing the
chakras takes us up to the higher level.
Smooth and free chakras result in loving relationships, creativity, personal power,
inner understanding, and internal harmony.
Diseases and Chakras
Disease means not being at ease. Either body or mind or social factors may be
uneasy. Whenever any type of uneasiness is experienced, one should consider it a
disease.
When energy is balanced, other things start balancing. So, it is with chakras,
whenever they are balanced a person starts feeling and experiencing balance in the
life.
In our body, there is a system which coordinates and balances all other systems; this
is called the endocrine system. This system is body main control mechanism. This
system has ductless glands that produce the hormones. These hormones act as
chemical messengers and keep the body in an optimum health level.
The endocrine glands correspond to each chakra. It is also well-known fact that each
chakra position is very close to the corresponding gland. As a result, the respective
chakra affects functioning of the corresponding gland. These chakras are deeply
inter-related with the glands. Balance and harmony between the chakras and glands
lead to a healthy and balanced life.
Chakra imbalances and Endocrine system
If chakras are either over active or inactive then there is imbalance in our activities.
Internal sickness is often associated with imbalances of chakra. Balancing of chakras
can be done under the supervision of a capable Yoga Acharya.
The following chart clarifies the diseases which can occur due to the imbalance of
corresponding chakra. Every chakra corresponds with one of the important glands of
endocrine system.
