This course is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to effectively manage associations. Upon completion of the course, students will have developed attributes such as industry awareness, strategic thinking, value proposition development, volunteer management, board and team management, organizational culture, financial management, brand development, effective communication, and problem-solving.
Throughout the course, students will learn about the association management industry, including current trends and challenges. They will also learn how to develop and implement strategic plans for success in their association. Students will learn how to create effective value propositions for their association's members, and how to effectively recruit and recognize volunteers, creating a culture of volunteerism within their association.
The course will also focus on the importance of a high-functioning board, executive, and staff team, and how to lead and manage them effectively. Students will learn how to develop a strong organizational culture, including team effectiveness and conflict management.
