Now that the student knows what Himalayan Kriya Yoga is we learn about what benefits the student can gain by practicing kriya yoga. This will help encourage the student once they arrive at the actual practice session.
This portion talks about the lineage of Himalayan Kriya Yoga. It is a history lesson about the founding of the practice. The term Guru is also discussed : very important concept. In the video we also teach the student a chant which helps to connect to the lineage and the Guru Within.
In this lecture the student learns what makes a Himalayan Kriya Experience and the different aspects of Himalayan Kriya Yoga. This will help the student differentiate between a Himalayan Kriya experience and other practices and understand why this is so.
It is important in all yoga practices to understand that we are not just physical beings because when you start exploring different states of awareness, experiences are going to happen that need a theoretical framework.

In this course you will learn the basic techniques for the practice of Himalayan Kriya Yoga. Himalayan Kriya is an ancient form of yoga that doesn't really look like other yoga practices that are currently known outside of India because this comes from a separate tradition. Instead of driven by postures it is driven by breathwork and is more closer in methods to Somatic Movement Therapy. This means that more people can enjoy it because you don't need to be young, skinny and bendy to do it.
In this basic foundational course you learn all the basic techniques and information to learn about Himalayan Kriya Yoga. This includes what it is, how it works, where it comes from and the story of why this course came to be. This course is actually a really special offering because it is rare to find a kriya teacher and even more rare to find online instruction.
You will also learn some basic kriyas that will impact your body and mind in significant ways. There are three main sections to the course with different kinds of information and techniques to achieve this intention. Since this course is breathwork driven, you will be taught some foundational breath techniques that you can keep practicing in order to improve your breathing ability and also calm the mind and relax your system so that the kriya techniques will work better. We will also learn about mudras, which are an important aspect of kriya practice. Finally there are 2 different kriya videos to make the energy flow in your mind better, for clarity, pain reduction and improving both your ability to focus and the access to the subconscious and third eye.
