Introduction Azure Backup

This lesson will give you a complete overview of the course content as well as get you started with some azure backup basics. You'll learn more about how each Azure backup service operates and the steps involved in setting it up.

This lesson will show you how to backup files and folders using the older 'classic' or Azure Services Manager portal. All future lessons will focus on the newer Azure Resource Manager but here you'll learn how it is still possible tgo Azure backup via the 'classic' portal.

This lesson will take you through the set up required to commence basking up data using Azure backup for file and folders. You'll learn how to create a destination for the data in Azure and how to install the required software from the portal.

This lesson builds on the previous one and steps you through actually backing up files and folders from a Windows server to the Azure using the setup previously created. You'll see how to use the backup software to ensure all your required data is protected.

It shows you how to ensure that everything is working correct to ensure confidence in the protection process.

You'll see how to run an Azure Site Recovery (ASR) test failover process. You use this to ensure that information you are protecting can be quickly and easily recovered. The test process allows you to do all this directly in Azure without affecting the protection you already have in place.

If there is ever a need to recover you Hyper V machines in a planned manner, Azure Site recovery (ASR) allows this quickly and easily. This lesson will take you through that process end to end and show you how to easily recover your locally protected Hyper V guest to Azure or back to on premises.

The reason you have a backup is for those times when unexpected failures occur. This lesson takes you through a simulated unexpected failure of the local Hyper V guest machine and show you how to recover that machine again from Azure Site Recovery (ASR).

Because Azure Site Recovery (ASR) replicates your local Hyper V guest to the cloud it is also possible to use the service as a way to migrate on premises servers to the cloud. This lesson will take you through that process step by step.
