Welcome to the " Introduction to water and wastewater treatment processes" course!
In an era where the availability of clean and safe water for human consumption and environment sustainability is challenging; Water and Wastewater treatment processes play an important and crucial role in addressing this challenge. These processes include a series of steps designed to remove the contaminants, pollutants and impurities from water, making it suitable for various purposes like drinking, irrigation, industrial use and even be safe enough to be released to environment.
In this course we will be exploring Water and Wastewater Treatment in 6 sections which are as follows:
Section 1 - Course Introduction:
This section discusses an overview of the entire course content where key deliverables of each section is discussed.
Section 2 - Introduction to Water and Wastewater Treatment
Discover the importance of water, the sources and concerns on the quality of water. Further a brief introduction to the water and wastewater treatment is discussed where we understand the key similarities and differences in the two treatment processes. In addition, current challenges of water is also discussed.
Section 3 - Water Quality Parameters
Explore the three main parameters of measuring water quality: Physical, Chemical and Biological.
Section 4 - Water Treatment Processes
Explore the unit processes involved in water treatment processes from screening, coagulation, sedimentation, filtration to chlorination. Each process is discussed in detail to understand its role in the treatment process.
Section 5 - Wastewater Treatment Processes
Explore the different unit processes involved in wastewater treatment from primary to secondary and tertiary treatment processes. Each process is discussed in detail to understand its role in the treatment process.
Section 6 - Future Trends
Discover the opportunities for innovation in water and wastewater treatment plant using technology to better understand how AI and Industry 4.0 can be used proactively to minimize operational costs and optimize processes.
