This starts to explain what intelligence is and how it impacts on our security. Information can come from a variety of sources and we have to be able to look at it and analyse how that may affect the security of our staff, assets, business continuity and reputation.
Part A of lesson 2. This is quite a long lesson so I broke it down into three - A, B and C. The attached PDF covers all three lessons in one. It is an introduction to practical risk management and how intelligence (or security information and it is also known) interacts very closely with security management and, in fact is critical to it.
There are military, law enforcement and agency applications of intelligence, this lecture discusses how intelligence is embedded with security for commercial purposes.
An introduction to other course. This one is an into to Human Intelligence which, as a security manager, is a critical skill to have.
This is an add-on that I thought may interest you. It's a look at some information sources and a combination of information and analysis including maps, which are great for making threat assessments and/or supporting reports.
The introductory course starts with an overview to intelligence and why we need it, moving into the world of security management for section 2. Intelligence is critical for a good security model, which is why it is combined here. Section 3 introduces the commercial aspects of intelligence. The overall course (Introductory/intermediate/advanced) is designed to be a complete course of intelligence analysis and security management.
