Description

Intersections are most commonly used highway engineering. Modelling of intersection are a integral part of highway/road design. Civil 3D software has some powerful tools that supports the modelling of intersections.

In this course we will be learning how to model an intersection with Civil 3D software. We will be using a very simple approach to model the intersection but it include all the basics you need to model any advance intersection.

Further more, we will be discussing various methods to model intersection with Civil 3D, so that you can use whatever the method depending on your requirement.

This course created on a exercised based environment so that the student learn the concepts step by step. Every task has its own related exercise file which means you can start the course literally from any where.

The basic course outline is as follows.

  1. Create Intersection Layout

  2. Create Edge Alignments

  3. Create Curb Return Alignments

  4. Match Secondary road profile with Main Road

  5. Create Curb Return Profiles

  6. Create Intersection Assemblies

  7. Create Intersection Corridor

  8. Create Intersection Corridor Surface

  9. Check for Drainage

  10. Issue data for Construction

  11. Intersection on Superelevated Section

  12. Intersection with variable width

  13. Intersection with Feature Lines

  14. Create Curb Returns with Connected Alignments

  15. Create Intersection using Intersection Wizard

We will be mainly using Civil 3D 2025 version, but you can use all the versions from 2018 to 2025 to complete course.
