Description

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Most workplace problems are communication problems that nobody called by that name. Here are 286 tools to fix them: 222 ready-to-use procedures, question lists, templates and checklists, 59 models and methods and 5 services shown on screen.

Open a lecture, take the one-on-one meeting agenda, and use it in your next conversation.

Why workplace communication breaks

One-on-ones turn into status updates, feedback is either too soft or too late, meetings end without decisions, conflicts go underground, and important news reaches people through rumours.

What changes after this course

Conversations have a structure, feedback is specific and heard, meetings end with decisions, conflicts are resolved early, and internal news reaches every employee.

What is inside: 286 tools, counted lecture by lecture

You do not have to take this number on trust. Open any lecture and read its description: every tool inside is listed there by name.

  • 38 downloadable resources: lecture presentations with every tool on the slides
  • 222 ready-to-use tools inside the presentations:
  • 76 step-by-step procedures: SBR feedback, difficult conversations, six-step coaching conversations, daily feedback implementation
  • 57 question lists and scripts: performance feedback, coaching conversations, personal feedback barriers, conflict resolution interview
  • 45 templates and sample documents: one-on-one meeting agenda, feedback preparation, COIN feedback, individual development plan
  • 29 checklists: effective feedback, coaching session preparation, employee issue diagnosis, bad news communication
  • 7 other working tools: feedback gap interview, feedback belief reframing, feedback stress reduction
  • 6 scorecards, rubrics and matrices, plus 1 ready AI prompt and 1 metric set: one-on-one business case, feedback topic prioritization, personal energy assessment, five areas of communication evaluation
  • 59 models and methods explained with examples: 360-degree feedback, Radical Candor, start-stop-continue feedback, Thomas-Kilmann conflict modes
  • 5 services shown on screen: PeopleForce, Bonusly, Slack, 15Five and Workvivo

Who is teaching

I am Mike, the #1 HR instructor on Udemy, with 1,800,000+ course enrollments from 170,000 students, and the author of about 200 books on Amazon. I built the people system at Preply as it became a unicorn and worked at Wargaming, iDeals and Alfa-Bank across 20 years in HR. I hold PHRi, SHRM-CP and HCI sHRBP certifications and represent HRCI in Eastern Europe. I am also a founder and lead the strategy of my own academy.

When I joined the STB TV channel after a bank, I sent most news by email, as everyone in the bank sat at a computer. Then a few times I approached an employee who knew nothing about the news. I asked whether he had email. He did not. Drivers, camera operators and lighting technicians had no email and no computers. I started reaching them through their managers, posters and links they could open. A message only works if it reaches the people it is for.
