Description
NUNCHAKU - the most popular of the martial arts tools.
Who wouldn't want to be great at the nunchaku?
Let us help you continue your training with our Intermediate Course.
For this course, we recommend using FOAM or PADDED nunchaku for your safety.
You do not need a partner for any of the sets or forms presented - this is a SOLO COURSE.
This course contains all of the requirements for
6th Kyu Orange Belt - 4 Sets and 1 Form
5th Kyu Orange/Green Belt - 4 Sets and 2 Forms
4th Kyu Green Belt - 4 Sets and 2 Forms
6th Kyu requirements start our double nunchaku. There are sets and forms for single and double nunchaku from this point in the course forward.
The 4th kyu forms are much longer and are suitable for tournaments and competitions.
If you are an experienced martial artist, I am confident you will find techniques to fill in the gaps and hopefully some new and exciting idea.

Instructor
Chris Pellitteri along with his wife, Sensei Christine Pellitteri and children (Jay and Lily) own and teach at the Upland Martial Arts Center in Upland, CA
Sensei Pellitteri started the school in 1995 and currently holds the rank of 9th Dan in Karate
Nunchaku have always been Sensei Pellitteri's favorite in martial arts and he loves sharing his passion and skill with others.

Sensei Pellitteri’s rank is also recognized by the Independent Karate Schools Association founded by Master Floyd Burk.
Sensei Pellitteri was awarded Traditional American Karate’s Instructor of the year for the years 1993, 1996, 2000
Sensei Pellitteri was awarded the title of “Master” in August of 1998
Sensei Pellitteri was awarded the title of “Shihan” (Honored Master or Instructor of Instructors) in December of 2014
Sensei Pellitteri was awarded the title of “Grand Master” in 2019
Sensei Pellitteri received a Black Belt in ZEN‐SHIN BUDO KAI, a nunchaku system under Master Bob McCormack in January of 2012 and was promoted to NI-DAN in February of 2020
Chris Pellitteri has also studied and holds rank in Judo, Kali (Filipino Stick Fighting), Tai Chi Ch’uan, USJA Ju‐Jitsu, International Okinawan Kobudo Association and Shito‐Ryo Itosu Kai Karate under world famous martial artist Fumio Demura.
Chris Pellitteri is a certified CHANBARA (padded weapons sparring) Instructor and trains in the sword under Shinan Dana Abbott.
Chris Pellitteri's First Book, The Martial Arts Info Guide Vol 1., was released in September 1998.
In 2003, Sensei Pellitteri created of North American Nunchaku Association (“NANA”) and holds
the rank of 6th Degree Black Belt in American Style Nunchaku.
In 2010, Sensei Pellitteri created the American Kobudo Association (a system which incorporates other traditional Okinawan weapons).
Sensei Pellitteri’s DVDs are listed in the Library of Congress.
Sensei Pellitteri has students in many countries.
Students in the United Kingdom and Austria have achieved the rank of black belt in the North
American Nunchaku Association and teach Sensei Pellitteri’s system at their schools.
In May 2008 he was awarded an honorary Ph.D./Ma.D.Sc. degree, the Doctorate of Martial Arts
Philosophy & Martial Arts Science, by the University of Asian Martial Arts Study based on the submission of his thesis “The North American Nunchaku Association”.
Sensei Pellitteri has competed in over a hundred martial arts tournaments and has won many local and regional events.
Sensei Pellitteri has promoted (hosted) over ninety martial arts tournaments since 1995 (As of November 2020)
Sensei Pellitteri was recently contacted for an interview by CNN for his opinion on a viral video containing a child performing nunchaku in the style of Bruce Lee. This was aired on CNN and on the CNN website.
Sensei Pellitteri has also been interviewed for LA WEEKLY, INSIDE KUNG FU MAGAZINE and THE NEW YORK TIMES on the subject of nunchaku.
Sensei Pellitteri spent two days in January of 2017 testifying as an expert witness in a federal case in New York. The court certified him as an expert in martial arts and specifically the nunchaku in a case to legalize nunchaku in homes in New York state.
In early 2019, the New York nunchaku law was overturned making nunchaku legal for the residents of New York state.
