Description

This course offers you insight into the real tasks that instructional designers perform to storyboard a Level 3 course. You will understand the types of interactivities to include in your Level 3 course, as well as get detailed information on advanced interactivities like simulations, storytelling, gamification and branching.

In this course the focus is on simulations and scenario-based learning. You will learn how to create an instructionally sound course using a three-part eLearning simulation strategy known as Show Me, Try Me, Test Me. You will also learn to create an instructionally sound course using the elements of Scenario-Based Learning which are storytelling, gamification and branching.

We will look at an TWO example briefs as well as go through two sample storyboards - one sample storyboard for each example brief.

The first sample storyboard will give you a clear idea of how to script a simulation course using the Show Me, Try Me, Test me strategy. The storyboard will focus on three parts - the scripting of the Show Me part, the scripting of the Try Me part, and the scripting of the Test me part.

The second sample storyboard will give you a clear idea of how to create a course that focuses on storytelling and gamification. This sample storyboard will focus on three parts - the scripting of the story based on the brief, the scripting of the gamification elements keeping in mind the overall story, and the scripting of the end of the story.
