In this lesson, we will login to our newly installed openSUSE server and perform a few preliminary tasks such as disabling the firewall and changing the hostname.

In this lesson we will add a second NIC (Network Interface Card) to the server and configure it with a static IP address. This will allow us to simplify our connection to SAP from our host system without having to manipulate any special NAT rules.

In this lesson, we are going to add our connection in SAP GUI and then login to our server. I'll also show you some shortcuts to starting and stopping your SAP Instance on the server, and then you'll obtain your hardware key in order to obtain a valid license from SAP.
