Introduction to the material that we are planning on covering throughout the course.
A short video that allows you to 'meet' me.
This will provide the bitly links to the downloads in order to obtain each of the software packages that you will require to go through this course.
A walk-through of obtaining VMware Workstation Pro on a 30 day free trial.
A walk-through of obtaining openSUSE, Leap Edition.
A walk-through of obtaining SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP Dev. Ed.
Install MVware Pro by launching the installer.
In this lesson, we will create our virtual machine with some very basic settings.
In this lesson, we walk through the configuration settings for your Virtual Machine.
In this lesson, we will learn how to mount the ISO (image) of openSUSE in order to begin our installation.
In this lesson, we will power on our virtual machine and familiarize ourselves with the openSUSE boot menu. While we will kick off our installation here, we won't dive in until the next lesson!
This lesson will show you the initial installation of openSUSE from start to finish, with a few added fun tidbits of information. Your install should take up to 30 minutes, depending on your bandwidth. The video has been sped up where appropriate.
In this lesson, we will login to our newly installed openSUSE server and perform a few preliminary tasks such as disabling the firewall and changing the hostname.
In this lesson we will add a second NIC (Network Interface Card) to the server and configure it with a static IP address. This will allow us to simplify our connection to SAP from our host system without having to manipulate any special NAT rules.
In this lesson we will use WinRAR to extract our SAP files and prepare them for transfer to our openSUSE Server.
In this lesson we will use SCP (Secure Copy) in order to copy the extracted SAP Installation files to our openSUSE server.
The preceding 16 lessons have all led to this one. In this lesson, you will successfully install SAP on your virtual machine and have a fully functional SAP Netweaver Developer Edition that you can login to and start your ABAP journey!
In this lesson, we will extract and walk through the installation of the SAP GUI client.
In this lesson, we are going to add our connection in SAP GUI and then login to our server. I'll also show you some shortcuts to starting and stopping your SAP Instance on the server, and then you'll obtain your hardware key in order to obtain a valid license from SAP.
In this lesson, we will utilize the Active Hardware Key we obtained in the previous lesson in order to obtain our Developer License for our SAP Server.
