    Bill Brooks was called one of the godfathers of solar engineering in the United States.

    Today, you will learn about how to setup Time of Use Mode in Solar Energy Storage Inverter for Time-of-Use Shifting. The homeowners could save up the energy generated by the sun during the period when the electricity rate is low, and then use it later from home batteries when the electricity rate is high.

Bill Brooks is a renowned solar expert for national electrical code and standards. He is an active participant on many codes and standards panels including Code Making Panel 4 of the National Electrical Code, UL1703, UL1741, UL2703, and UL9540 Standards Technical Panels, and IEC TC82 Working Groups 3 and 6. Bill Brooks is a member of the California Office of the State Fire Marshal’s (Cal Fire) PV Task force that developed the Solar Photovoltaic Installation Guideline, which became the model for national regulation.

Bill Brooks is proliferated writer. He has written several important technical manuals for the industry that are now widely used throughout the United States and beyond. His publications include the Expedited Permit Process for PV Systems, the Field Inspection Guidelines for PV Systems, and the Field Guide for Testing Existing Photovoltaic Systems, as well as many articles in solar and inspector magazines.

Bill Brooks helped facilitate the development and expansion of domestic and international markets for PV systems for the past 30 years. He developed inverter eligibility requirements for California and managed the eligible inverter list for 8 years for the California Energy Commission. He also developed permitting and inspection guidelines used widely throughout the United States to streamline the process and reduce the soft costs of implementing PV systems.

With his experience of designing, installing, and evaluating grid-connected PV systems, Bill Brooks’ consulting work focuses on: a) Field troubleshooting. His field troubleshooting skills have been valuable in determining where problems occur to focus training on those issues of greatest need. And b) Training installers and inspectors on implementation issues such as code compliance and code enforcement.
