Here is a preview and simple explanation of this course. It is designed for students who want to begin the journey of vector illustration and graphic design using Inkscape.
A.THE INTERFACE8:47
In this episode, students will learn how to navigate the user interface and create a page profile.
B.THE BASICS11:12
Students will learn to use the basic tools available in Inkscape. I will also explain the common terms used in vector graphics drawing.

1.CHOOSING ARTWORK COLOR4:04
In this lecture, we will choose the colors for the artwork. You will be able to use the Fill and Stroke menu and create and save swatches.
2.CLOUDS & SUN5:51
In this lecture, I draw the clouds and sun using the ellipses tool and spirals tool. I will also introduce you to the align and distribute menu.
3.BACK MOUNTAINS5:10
Using the squares and rectangles tool, we will draw the back mountains. I will introduce you to the Path effects menu and the function Object to Path.
4.THE LAKE9:26
As I draw the lake, you will learn how to draw curves and strokes using the bezier pen tool. I will also introduce you to grids and guides.
5.THE WATERFALL5:30
In this lecture, I will draw a waterfall. In the process, you will learn how to use the transform menu and the spay object tool.

We draw the front mountains using the squares and rectangle tool. You will also learn to use a few path operations.

In this final lecture, I draw a turbine and introduce a few objects. I discuss more on an object's center of rotation and perspective drawing. Included as a resource is the final piece for comparison.

In this class, we will recreate this beautiful piece of artwork in Inkscape.

Inkscape is a free professional quality vector graphics software used by illustrators, graphic designers, and artists.

The course is for people new to Inkscape and graphic design in general.

During this course, you will learn how to use tools available in Inkscape, through a real-world practical project. From the beginning, we will work our way through, step by step, from navigating the interface to document setup, creating objects, and composition.

This course is structured, into two main sections.

Basics, with two episodes, and practical with fourteen episodes.

The first two episodes, meant for users new to this application, and the rest of the course is on the step-by-step, practical process.

The inspiration for this project came from a technique I discovered on how to learn and master a new software application.

Use an application you are interested in to replicate a project.

For example, if you are familiar with Inkscape and want to learn Affinity Designer, follow this class while using Affinity.

With commitment, you will find similar tools, new techniques, and possibilities to recreate this artwork. Your ability to learn and master is then highly improved.

A similar illustration was created in Adobe Illustrator by Mr. Sasi-Kumar, an excellent graphic designer and artist based in Singapore.
