Before we open the console, we start where every real implementation starts: the business requirement. In this lecture, you’ll meet the NovaCare Care Facility scenario and see how each requirement turns into a data modeling decision.
You’ll learn how to:
Read a business requirement and identify what needs to be managed independently
Decide between basic fields, smart fields, field groups, reference data, relationships, and hierarchies
Plan the eight configuration steps we will build in the live demo.
This is the hands-on part. We build the Care Facility model in Business 360 Console, step by step, following the design decisions from Part 1.
In this live demo, we:
Create the CareFacility business entity and add basic and smart fields
Set up reference data and a repeating accreditation field group
Create relationships to Organization and Person, and build an organization hierarchy
Apply a data quality rule and configure the business application page.
A model is only finished when you’ve checked that it meets the requirement. In this lecture, we review the final Care Facility model, then validate each part in the actual Business 360 Console.
You’ll see how to:
Confirm that every business requirement is covered in the final model
Check the entity, fields, field group, relationships, and data quality rule in the console
Take away the modeling mindset to use in your own Customer 360 SaaS implementations
Refer back to the lab guide PDF and sample files in the Resources section as you review your own model in your IDMC environment. For further reading, the official Informatica documentation on data modeling in Business 360 Console is linked in the Resources section.
