Description
Meditation and mindfulness have a myriad of scientifically proven benefits for our mental as well as physical well-being. That's why they should be as naturally included in our daily routines as brushing our teeth is - because they are as crucial for our overall health as dental hygiene is for our teeth.
Therefore, this course will teach you about their potential positive effects on your life. In addition, you will learn about and experience more than 16 meditation techniques so you can find the one (or the ones) that resonate with you the most. The course will also help you make meditation practice a part of your everyday life and support you in dealing with the possible challenges of meditation.
Included are 24 guided meditation audio files of various lengths to help you get started.
The first section explains what meditation and mindfulness are and lets you experience them in different ways.
The second section is all about how meditation enriches your life, i.e., its health-promoting effects.
The third section discusses possible obstacles in meditation practice and respective solutions.
The fourth section introduces various meditation techniques, including loving-kindness meditation, walking meditation, and body scan, to name just a few.
Finally, the fifth section deals with integrating meditation and mindfulness practice into your daily routine.
By the way: there's a Certified Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher Training at Living Health Academy that includes the material of this beginners course and much more. It will enable you to practice meditation yourself and teach it to others, guide them through their meditative experiences, and write your own meditation scripts. You don't need any prior experience for that training either.
If you're interested in professional training, I recommend you check out the teacher training before enrolling in this course. Otherwise, you would have to go through some of the same lectures again if you decide to do the teacher training later.
Who this course is for:
- This course is designed for people with little or no experience in meditation and mindfulness or meditators who want to learn new meditation techniques.
Instructor
Living Health is all about achieving well-being through a combination of many different approaches. We use nutrition, physical activity, stress management techniques, personal development, social support, and the power of nature to grow and heal.
My name is Alina, and I am a holistic well-being and lifestyle coach. I am a psychologist, but also a life coach, plant-based (vegan) nutritionist, vital substance adviser, relationship counselor, positive psychology practitioner, meditation and mindfulness teacher, as well as a forest and nature therapist. I am constantly training in new disciplines: at the moment, for example, I'm taking training in educational guidance, one in child development counseling, and one in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. It's my goal and passion to help people live happy and healthy lives by including as many disciplines as possible in my work with them.
That's why I try to teach as many people as possible about the scientifically proven ways to make us physically and psychologically healthy as well as happy and thriving. One way I do this is by writing books about what I learned from science and my professional training; my first one is called Living Health (available in German but will be in English soon). Another way is by providing courses on different topics here at Udemy. Moreover, I teach professional training at Living Health Academy so that others can help me spread knowledge on holistic happiness and health.
