Be Present:
Make a conscious effort to be fully present in the moment when someone is speaking to you. Eliminate distractions, put away your phone, and focus your attention on the speaker.
Maintain Eye Contact:
Maintain appropriate eye contact with the speaker. It conveys your interest and attentiveness.
Give Nonverbal Cues:
Use nonverbal cues, such as nodding, smiling, and leaning slightly forward, to show that you are engaged in the conversation.
Avoid Interrupting:
Resist the urge to interrupt or interject your thoughts while the speaker is talking. Let them finish speaking before responding.
Practice Patience:
Sometimes, people need extra time to formulate their thoughts. Be patient and allow for pauses in the conversation.
