You will learn about what this course is, and is not. The outline of the course is discussed.
Meet Alexandria, learn about her background and why she built this course.
Learn what attachment theory is, and how it applies to the relationship you have with your child.
Learn what the love languages are, and start to determine which one(s) your child may speak, in order to best connect with them.
Learn about and develop activities which are specifically aimed toward your child to help strengthen your bond, and help deepen the love between you.
Develop your family's values, and use them to establish clear expectations for your child. It's like creating the business mission statement for your family and the job description for your kid!
We will work on creating limits that make sense for your family and child. Limits are like rules, and they create a safe space for the child to be able to operate within.
We will cover the psychological definitions of punishment and reinforcement. By the end of this lecture, you will be able to create a list of consequences they will be able to use to help manage their child's behavior.
Learn why consistency is so important to your parenting, and how different types of consistency may impact your child's behavior.
Create a plan to be the strongest parent/caregiver/guardian you can be so you can implement change.
We will cover common scenarios, how long this process will take, basic trouble-shooting, and when to seek in-person professional help.
This lecture gives a brief overview of the skill-sets you have developed in this course.
Have you ever wanted to become a better parent, feel like you know what you're doing when you're parenting, or improve your quality of life? You can do all those things!
This beginner-level course teaches you how to develop the necessary framework to your parenting. Instead of reactive parenting (which doesn't often find us at our best), you will be provided a way to become more thoughtful about your parenting. Information is presented to you, and then worksheets are provided to help solidify some of the lessons and make them personal to your family. The middle of the course is best taken one lecture at a time, with a few days in between; the entire course completed this way would be 3-4 weeks long.
The strength and happiness of the relationships you have with the people closest to you have a direct impact on your quality of life. You only get one chance to parent the kid you have today. You will never regret strengthening the relationship you have with your child.
