Let's define what we mean by IKIGAI, the ancient Japanese model for finding your life's purpose and reason for living.
We have been living and breathing IKIGAI for many years and we will share with you what it means for us and how we've used it to create the work/life balance that we love.
Let's explore why IKIGAI is worth it and how it will make your life clearer, more meaningful and ultimately, so much more enjoyable and valuable.
The technique of manifestation is fundamental within IKIGAI to ensure you align every moment of every day with your life's purpose. In this way, you'll live and breathe your desired life, from this point forward.
When you complete the program we will present you with a personalised course certificate from our academy. This will help you to celebrate the first steps on your life map.
In each section, we will present you with a real-life example of someone else who is on their IKIGAI journey, so you can embed your learning and deeply understand each question and technique in this course.
Let's begin with a deep dive into the things that you really, truly love, from work, leisure and life around you. Let's find out what makes your heart sing.
We will begin by helping your heart to speak up. Without the often contradicting chatter of your mind, you will uncover things you really love and honour these things without compromise.
Some people like lists, others like mind maps. We love sticky notes, because they allow for free expression without structure or slowing you down. Let your ideas run wild.
Let's focus on what's most important. You'll have lots of wonderful ideas, but some are more valuable than others. We'll share a simply technique you can use to decide what's most important for you.
Here's a real life example of someone else identifying what they love, to perhaps give you ideas and inspiration.
Time to get really honest with yourself. Allow your ego to express itself, without embarrassment or guilt as we explore what you are good, or even great, at.
Here's a useful little filter. If you feel you don't have to try at something, it's probably an indication that you are really good at it.
An opportunity to reflect upon what others have found useful, rewarding or helpful, from you. Taking the perspective of those you value and trust is a great way of capturing things you might otherwise miss yourself.
Let's explore the things that you are good at, but as yet you haven't really made full use of in your life. This is a deep dive into your true potential.
Time to use the sticky notes to prioritise your findings from what you are good at, to identify your innate power.
Let's watch a real life example of someone else thinking about their strengths and the value they bring to others.
We all know we live in a world of increasing uncertainty, challenges and change. But what do YOU think the world needs right now? Not just the world in general, but the world around YOU?
We are seeing the increasing importance of leading a wholesome, socially and environmentally conscious lifestyle. Let's explore things you believe are important to enhance the world around you.
With fast paced lifestyles and demands on us from family, colleagues and friends, what could you do or bring to your world, to create more available time? What value would that add to those around you?
Napoleon Hill once said that the greatest value we bring to others is to serve them without expectation of receiving something directly in return. What could you do to serve others, without expectation and what do you think might happen as a result of you doing this (giving)?
Back to our trusted sticky notes to prioritise our list of things the world needs and that we could contribute to.
Let's watch a real life example of someone else thinking about their strengths and the value they bring to others.
The next question to consider in your IKIGAI is how can you be rewarded, how could you be rewarded and perhaps how would you like to be rewarded? As we will see, there are many ways to reward, from the obvious financial rewards and gifts to things like acts of service and even simply using language.
We all have different expectations of a rewarding lifestyle. Think of the difference between what you want and what you need. There is a difference. Notice how this feels. What is drawing you? Do you need more than you want? Or do you want more than you need?
Explore if you are currently in the right place and serving the right people or if the skills and things you enjoy could be better directed to other people or other places?
The final use of the sticky notes technique as you prioritise how best you can be rewarded or paid, to meet what you want or need.
A real life example of reward and how sometimes it's easy to get caught up in your own web of limiting beliefs.
Manifestation is a word that is used by many, but mastered by few. Let's explore why this might be and what you can do about it, to ensure you are well set to manifest the life you desire.
Time now to reflect upon the priorities that have emerged from your four sticky note exercises. How does each sticky note feel now? Do you need to change or replace any? Are the priority orders still correct? Take your time, because this is an important step in the process, although you can of course, revisit this step at any time and adjust your priorities.
You may have already had the moment when everything becomes clear and you see in front of you what you've been searching for. If that is still to happen, now is the time to find your IKIGAI. Allow the highest priority sticky notes from each of the four sections to migrate to the centre of the IKIGAI circles. What do you see? Do you see your IKIGAI life? The life where you can be rewarded for delivering to others what you love and are good at?
Sticky notes may only take you so far. It is important to spend time reflecting upon what you see in your IKIGAI. Take a notepad, or start typing, and describe in your own words what your IKIGAI life feels and sounds like.
Many of us are visual people. Visualising how your IKIGAI life will look, is a crucial step towards manifesting it in reality. This is because emotion is a transformative energy and catalyst for success.
You may use your notepad, tablet or computer, to draw your Ikigai life. Some people like to create an IKIGAI vision board, using a montage of images or record a voice memo, describing how your IKIGAI looks and feels in your own voice. You may like to do a combination of all these methods, as this will intensify the desired outcome. Have fun playing with this and notice how it feels as you work through the exercises.
We will now take you through a meditation to begin to align you heart, mind, body and soul with your Ikigai life. This part of the course is very important to ensure that each element of YOU, including your subconscious mind, is aligned with the life you desire.
Finding your IKIGAI is just the beginning. You now have the chance to live your Ikigai, every moment of every day, if you fully commit to your new life map.
In practice, manifestation can be one of the most powerful and profound techniques. However, we often become too attached to the desired outcomes. In this section of the course we'll explore how you can successfully manifest by simply letting go.
You'll remember that earlier in the course we talked about the chatter of your conscious mind? Sometimes this is called the 'Monkey Mind' and it is full of limiting beliefs, self doubt and impatience. In this section we will explore how you can become more present and mindful to identify when this self-sabotage is happening and what you can do about it.
You've created your IKIGAI and are ready to take it out into the world. Here is where the fun should really begin. However, we all know people who will doubt and put you off, based upon their own internal issues and experiences. In this section we'll teach you that this is really nothing to do with you and what best to do with those energy vampires, who try to exhaust your ambitions and desires.
From great morning habits to investing time to be mindful throughout the day, there are many great techniques to share with you to help you start to create sustainable daily habits that will help you manifest and live your IKIGAI life, from this point onward.
Consistently fuelling your IKIGAI, whatever the weather around you, is arguably the most empowering and enjoyable ways you can live your life. In this section we will discuss how to bring others along on your journey and perhaps become an inspiration to them as well, maybe helping them to find their own IKIGAI.
In this final section, as we present you with your Neya Certificate for completing our IKIGAI course, we'll share what you might want to do next and further resources available. Namaste.
Here's an opportunity to listen to IKIGAI Tribe founder Nick Kemp about what it means to live every moment in the present, with IKIGAI
