Malinca Verwiel has studied as a theatre-teacher and comedy-teacher and has helped over more than 30 starting comedians and performers to a successful career, including Claudia de Breij and Leon van der Zanden. She graduated Cum Laude on her paper: “How to make drama more like comedy (accessible & light) and how to make a comedy more dramatic/tragic”
In 1999 she was officially certificated as comedy-teacher by Ruut Weissman (Amsterdamse Kleinkunstacademie). On top of that, she has been working for 4 years for the Amsterdams Kleinkunst Festival, a competition-festival for comedians, where she coordinated the tour of the Concours of the Wim Sonneveld Price.
She is speaker coach for pitches, TED-talks, seminars and books presentations. Malinca is making everyone creative and also knows to point at the painful spot. Her roots lay in the funniest region of Holland called Brabant (father) as the region Gelderland (mother). This is the most serious region of Holland.
She is also founder and creative director of Humor in Bedrijf (2003). Humor in Bedrijf has been helping organisations, since 2003, with changing their company culture. They use humour and pain as a tool. They provide day programs to make an impact on a company culture in one day. Every company deals with different processes of change and humour can be the lighthearted approach to loosen some tension. People who use humour are less stressed, are more productive and happier.
