How to Teach Meaningful Online Movement Experiences
- No requirements or prerequisites. Only that you are or would like to teach online.
Now, more than ever, it’s essential to deliver meaning during movement experiences sessions. But doing business during this global pandemic is challenging.
Whether you’re teaching online sessions or getting back to in-person sessions, it’s important to acknowledge how this crisis has changed us and our businesses. This extreme event is forcing everyone to adapt more than they ever thought they would. For those who work in health and fitness, this is a complete shock to our system because we’re used to meeting with people in person. There’s immense pressure to keep our clients by offering discounts, sales, and free services because we’re afraid of losing our livelihood.
In this short workshop, I’ll discuss ways to both sell and serve with heart during this global crisis. I believe you do not have to choose between making money or making a difference through movement. By implementing these strategies and best practices, clients will see the value of your teaching and compensate you fairly.

Hi, my name is Holly Furgason and I’m the Founder and CEO of Blue Sparrow Pilates, the Merithew Licensed Training Center in San Francisco, California. I have over 20 years of teaching experience working with everyone from professional and Olympic athletes to cancer survivors. You can find me anywhere from Michigan to South Korea teaching the next generation of Pilates instructors. It’s my passion and life purpose to spread the benefits of Pilates to those that need it. It’s this passion that has enabled to me to build and successfully run my studio, Blue Sparrow Pilates, in the heart of San Francisco for over 10 years.
In addition to teaching Pilates Training Courses around the world and in San Francisco, I write the teaching blog, The Hatchery, developed a Pilates app called Fit Pregnancy, and contribute writing to Pilates Style Magazine, PilatesIntel, Pilates-Pro, PilatesPal, and Profitable Pilates.
I received my STOTT PILATES® certification in 2001, became an Instructor Trainer for STOTT PILATES® in 2011, and a Lead Instructor Trainer in 2016. 20 years later, I’m still here and want to help you become the best instructor your can be.
I can’t wait to see you in one of my courses soon!
