Description

In this course, you will learn more about the reasons why children can feel anxious and how the grown-ups around them can help a child with their anxiety by learning a new way of talking to and interacting with their kids.

The course is structured as follows:

- Introduction - finding out more about the trainer and the outcomes of the course

- Section 1 - Understanding what makes our kids anxious

- Section 2 - Understanding more about what anxious behaviours look like and how they anxious brain is working

- Section 3 - Learning new phrases to use with your anxious child in multiple situations

- Section 4 - Learning new tools and techniques when interacting with your anxious child

- Section 5 - wrap-up

This course is part of several courses that look at the impact that our words and body language can have on our kids, particularly when parenting kids with additional needs.  The first course looks at the impact of our words and actions on our kids when they are struggling with challenging behaviours.  The second course focuses primarily on how to talk to the angry child.  This course can be completed standalone or part of a series.

After the course, you should feel more confident at understanding what lies behind your child's anxiety and how to deal with it in a different way.  We can't always stop our children feeling anxious, but we can help them to learn to manage it and deal with it in order to make them more resilient in the future.

Who this course is for:

  • Parents
  • Childcare professionals or volunteers
  • Family members
  • Teachers, mentors, coaches etc.
