All you need for this course is a badminton racket in good condition, 33 feet of badminton string, I will be using BG 65 from Yonex which is 10m or 33 feet in packet, a stringing machine (with 2 flying clamps if it does not have fixed clamps), nose plier and cutter.
Once you have these items, you will be ready to start stringing.
There are many different types of strings, such as Yonex BG 65, BG 65 Titanium, BG 80, BG 80 Power, and Nanogy 99. Additionally, strings are available from various brands like Li-Ning, Victor, and Ashaway. When selecting strings, we can consider their gauge, which affects durability and tension. For beginners, I recommend a tension of 20-24 lbs, for intermediate players 24-26 lbs, and for advanced players 26-30 lbs.
We also have two types of rackets to consider: some with widely spaced grommets and others, like the Apacs Ziggler, with closely spaced grommets at the top. Each requires a different stringing pattern, which I will explain in this course.
In this video, I will show you how to cut the strings on your racket if they break while playing or if you need to remove the demo gut that comes with brand new rackets. This technique will help you remove the strings without distorting the racket head shape or losing the grommets.
In this video, I will show you how to safely open the Yonex BG 65 string from the packet and how to cut the tag without damaging the strings.
