This method encourages self-awareness and can help identify the root cause of your cravings. **Hungry**: Ask yourself, "What are you really hungry for?" Often, cravings for sugar and carbs mask a deeper need. Are you genuinely hungry for food, or are you seeking emotional nourishment? Opt for a balanced meal or snack rich in protein and fiber to satisfy true physical hunger. **Angry**: Reflect on, "What are you angry about?" Emotional triggers like anger can drive cravings for comfort foods. Identify the source of your anger and find healthy ways to address it, such as journaling, talking to a friend, or engaging in physical activity to release pent-up energy. **Lonely**: Consider, "Are you feeling lonely? Is connection safe for you?" Loneliness can lead to seeking solace in food. Reach out to friends or family, join a community group, or engage in social activities that foster connection and reduce the sense of isolation. **Tired**: Ask, "What are you tired of?" Fatigue often drives sugar and carb cravings for quick energy boosts. Ensure you’re getting enough rest, manage your workload, and practice good sleep hygiene. Addressing fatigue holistically can reduce the urge to rely on unhealthy snacks for energy. By exploring these questions, together we will heal the root causes, often unconscious and bring awareness too feeling calm in the nervous system so the desire simply falls away.
