Requirements
- No prerequisites or requirements, just a desire to learn how to rock climb indoors at the gym or outdoors on real rock!
- Students should supplement this course with hands-on practice and climbing with other experienced climbers.
Description
We're here to teach you the fundamentals to get started rock climbing! By the end of this course you’ll have the tools and knowledge to safely get outdoors and begin sport climbing - climbing single-pitch routes with pre-existing bolts. We'll share what it takes to experience the exhilaration of climbing with an incredible landscape below you, regardless of age, gender or body type. You'll learn how to get started, select the proper gear, and the proper skills and technique to do it safely and have fun!
Audrey Sniezek, professional rock climber and sponsored athlete, brings her 20 years of experience to bring you expert guidance. She has climbed throughout the United States, Argentina, Europe, China and Vietnam.

Instructors
Steven is the founder of NextClimber, working with elite athletes to help share their mastery of the sport with everyone. As the producer, his responsibilities encompass concept development, scriptwriting, filming, editing, post-processing, and business development.
He is a technology product marketing executive and software architect focusing on developer technologies and strategic initiatives, with experiences at Microsoft, Red Hat, Silicon Valley startups, and as an independent consultant. Steven led the global launch of Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing offering, and has since held senior positions leading cloud, mobile, and IOT product launches. In addition to NextClimber, Steven is currently developing a mobile augmented reality (AR) application.

Audrey Sniezek was a professional climber for 10+ years, including multi-year US National team member and 4-season World Cup competitor for bouldering and sport climbing. She has had multiple female first ascents of routes locally and around the globe. She has sport climbed several 5.14's up to 5.14b, bouldered several V9’s, summited one big mountain, ice climbed, and traveled the world for rock climbing and competition.
