Description

Within the 'How To Play Blues Guitar – Level 1' course, you’ll dive into the heart of blues music by learning how to play both Lead and Rhythm Guitar in the authentic style of the blues.

On the rhythm side, you’ll strum through Open Chords and Power Chords, applying them to one of the most essential structures in blues music - the 12 Bar Blues Progression. This foundation is key to playing countless blues standards and will give you the tools to jam confidently with others or on your own.

On the lead guitar side, you’ll explore how to create and perform your own guitar solos using the Minor Pentatonic Scale and the Blues Scale - the same iconic scales used by legends like B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan & all of the other Blues Greats. You’ll build a vocabulary of expressive blues licks and learn how to bring them to life using legato techniques such as vibrato, bends, hammer-ons, pull-offs, and slides.

Improvisation is a key skill in blues guitar, and this course will help you get comfortable creating your own solos on the fly - with guidance every step of the way.

It’s recommended that you know the very basics of guitar playing before enrolling, such as simple chord shapes and basic strumming. This course will take that beginner knowledge and expand it into the expressive and soulful world of blues, helping you take your playing to the next level with confidence and feel.

Who this course is for:

  • Perfect for beginner guitarists ready to take their first real steps into the world of Blues rhythm and soloing.
