Welcome to the course, if you ever have any questions please just ask. I'm happy to help you.
*the recommended supply list is of course just to get started, abstract painting whether a hobby or profession requires an ongoing commitment to replenishing supplies and trying new materials and tools. This course is primarily focused on teaching techniques and strategies, and therefore there's a great deal of flexibility on which paints or tools to use. As much as I can I'll show you ways you can save money on supplies and tools.

We'll take a look at selling on Etsy. I've provided a Link to a wonderful Free Resource about selling your art on Etsy. I personally only had limited success, because I really didn't put much energy into it. I was starting to get into a lot of spaces locally and that became my focus. But if you're interested, and have the time it can be a great way to sell your art work. There are very successful artists on there, selling 5, 10 or even more pieces of art each month.
*UPDATE! Feb. 8th 2016 Artist Website Pro is not accepting new artists currently, so as soon as I can I'll make a new lecture, in the meantime just remember it's important to show your work to people and maintain an online presence, which can be as simple as a FaceBook Page Featuring your Art.
Now we'll go over my favorite sales method, selling directly to the collector.
For those that don’t have Photoshop, here’s a FREE editor Paint.Net and I’ll show you how to make a drop shadow on your paintings.
I summarize the course material, and explain that more lectures will be added, going into more depth of the subject How to Paint Abstract Art that Sells.
Continuing with just the 5 paints from the beginners supply list we'll develop an abstract painting based on a style I like to call patchwork. By using a limited palette we are almost certain of color harmony in the finished composition.
Part two of the demonstration how to paint abstracts in a patchwork design style.
We'll finish up this painting.
Here's a slightly different way to create an abstract painting based on the geometric designs I did for the Omni Hotel Art Project in 2011.
We'll use a warm palette again, in this abstract painting.
Let's finish this painting by adding a touch of blue.
