I guess you could use a paint tray & if you decided to use a paint tray might I suggest you using the little thin plastic liners so you can use that in your paint tray? It works pretty good.

How to paint a ceiling will be shown on this FREE video course! Have you ever had the pleasure of painting a ceiling before? I know! The first time I painted a ceiling, most of the paint came down in my eyes, on my clothes, on my shoes, & everywhere else for that matter.

The ceilings were about 10 feet tall & I made the mistake thinking oh this will be easy. I was also going to cut in around the ceiling fan & the smoke alarm too. Hmmm. It's not as easy as I thought it would be!

I also thought with a painter's extension pole I would be fine. What could go wrong? Well, plenty!

Have you ever used a painter's extension pole with a standard 9" roller frame & cover fully loaded with paint then painting so you have to crane your neck? It's not easy if you haven't done it much, especially when the roller frame is straight above you then how exactly do you keep going as you are walking & craning your head & moving the paint roller to get a full exact coverage all over the ceiling?

That's what I thought! You might think just hold the extension pole at a slight angle & walk behind the roller cover. It really tires you out & then to get the paint on there nice & even is pretty hard & exhausting. When you see a professional painter paint a ceiling you might think you can do it the same way & you will be fine. Wrong.
