
Many entrepreneurs discount the depth of their own network when beginning to look for startup investors. Use this question and it will dramatically change your chances of finding investors for your company.
Pitch competitions are a great place to meet potential investors. That is because they, the investors, tend to attend such events as a way to see what startups are up and coming.
Similar to pitch competitions, accelerators and incubators are instructor led programs that are designed to speed up the launch and/or growth of the startups they accept into their programs. Generally 90 days in length, these programs often require you apply to be accepted and are often industry focused.
Networking in general is a great way to meet investors. Just be sure you are selective where you network. No sense in spending all your time at networking events with too many corporate people.
Online sites like fundable.com and angel.co are great places to establish a profile. Just be careful that you get to know any potential investor before you formalize a relationship with them.
