Description
There are four fundamental elements we need in our life to maintain our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. These four main areas which are the pillars of general wellness are a healthy diet, regular moderate exercise, a good sleep routine and some form of relaxation. The relaxation element is what I'm going to mainly focus on in this course.
The reason being is that you cannot be relaxed and anxious at the same time. It is physiologically and biologically impossible for someone to be relaxed and anxious at the same time. They are like opposite sides of a coin. So the more relaxed you become the less anxious you will be.
You weren’t born anxious, just look at any tiny baby they can sleep anywhere. Anxiety is a coping mechanism that we develop to cope with everyday life or with a specific event that may have occurred in our life. In this course I show you the benefits of practising regular relaxation techniques such as meditation and mindfulness.
Also if you have a daily practice of meditation or mindfulness, this can help to decrease negative moods, improve concentration, have a better working memory, as well as decrease levels of anxiety.

Instructor
I am a Reiki Master and a Personal Development Coach. I work with healing energy and give therapy treatments to enhance well-being. I first trained in 2005 and this is when I started teaching reiki and giving healing sessions.
I retrained in 2009 with Penelope Quest, who is an international author of several best-selling reiki books. She only taught a couple of reiki courses each year as she was so busy writing. I couldn't wait to enrol on her next course, where I learnt many of the traditional Japanese methods of reiki healing.
Previously, I was a business studies lecturer for 13 years and I was also a mentor for the Princes' Trust, helping others to develop their skills into a full-time business. Currently I coach my own students in the area of personal development such as goal setting, managing emotions and building confidence.
In my teaching I am always delighted to share my knowledge and experiences of reiki and personal development and my students come from all over the UK.
When I am not working I enjoy singing, reading and I have been learning Italian for a couple of years.
