Description

This course is for people who want to learn Aari or Maggam Work. It is also called Tambour Embroidery in a few parts of the world. Aari work is a type of embroidery work that is done by stretching the fabric tightly over a wooden frame. A pen-like needle, that resembles a crochet needle is used to do the intricate work. This is a type of embroidery where the working thread is fed from below the frame using our left hand. Chain stitch is the most important stitch in this embroidery and that is exactly what you will learn here. A design can be worked just by using chain stitch alone. This course has a very detailed explanation about how to work chain stitch which is just a basic of Aari Work.
