My name is Karla Fernandes, I am a UX/UI & Digital Product Designer with more than 25 years of design experience. Currently, I am a freelancer and a mentor to students that want to become UX/UI Designers.
I have designed, built, and published 15+ Apps on the App Store and Google Play Store. By creating fully functional Apps or MVPs I help my customers shorten the time-to-market, reduce costs in comparison to traditional development, and iterate with high speed.

Hey, I am Karla Fernandes, a UX/UI & Digital Product Designer. I am a Designer for more than two decades. I have worked for renowned tech startups, educational and service-based companies. I am here to bring you some of my experience, my learnings and make sure you can learn quickly, fail faster, and move on immediately.
I have lived in 11 countries while managing my own freelance business. I've handled projects from over 150 small to big size companies around the globe. Over the years, I designed landing pages, sites, web stores, apps, among other things. I am a highly motivated self-starter, and since you are here, I guess you are too.
Since the end of 2020, I have been helping customers launch fully functional MVP applications. The 15+ Apps were built using no-code tools and are available on App Store and Google Play Store. The goal was to shorten time-to-market, reduce costs and iterate at high speed. One of my five strengths tested by Gallup is empathy and I use that in my favor. I love making products that are accessible, delightful to see and to interact with. My extensive portfolio confirms that and you can learn to do the same.
Throughout my professional career, I’ve acquired a variety of knowledge. Nowadays, Figma is one of my primary tools. I recognize the importance of staying on top of new technologies. I have developed Design Systems for initial and existing projects to complete products. Very structured and organized I have evolved and keep improving my workflow. I strive to grow both as a professional and as a person.
My passion for learning, design and people has led me to become a mentor. As a mentor, I am responsible to help my mentees keep their progress with weekly 1:1 calls. I offer detailed constructive feedback, career advice, and interview training. I assist them so that they would be job-ready. I also offer bootcamps where I train mentees to bring their ideas from Ideation to Market. The program teaches the basics of problem-solving applied through Design Sprint. We use real cases to learn the necessary no-code tools to make the MPV come to life.
I have programming skills and worked as a front-end developer. Combined with my interface skills, I am capable of tasks beyond the role of a Designer. On several occasions, I was responsible for being the bridge between teams. I aim to improve the team effort to communicate well and build towards a common goal. I like to figure out how pieces and resources arrange for most productivity. Helping and supporting others is something that motivates me.
