Master core game programming in Gamemaker Studio 2 using GML, building a basic room, player movement, combat, loot drops, spells, a level-up system, and a character select menu.
Create a basic game in GameMaker Studio 2 from a blank map to a playable room, adding a player, floor, gravity, and left-right movement with keyboard input.
Add sprinting with shift, implement a stamina meter that depletes during runs and recovers when idle, and build a top-left health bar with basic damage mechanics in Gamemaker Studio 2.
Learn to implement jumping for your character using GML in Gamemaker Studio 2, including adding a jump mechanic, gravity, and obstacle spikes that damage health with a damage timer.
Learn to add a pistol, ammo management, and pickups in GameMaker Studio 2: create weapon sprites, ammo packs, shooting with bullets and muzzle flash, and basic enemy interaction.
Add an enemy that damages the player on contact, create back-and-forth movement with a turning block, and implement loot drops with rarities via a random spawn system.
Add mana, spells, and potions to your game, including fireball and ice ball that damage enemies and consume mana. Switch between spells and restore mana with potions to continue casting.
Create a main menu in GameMaker Studio 2 with new game, continue, and quit; enable race and class selection (elf, dwarf, warrior, mage, assassin) and display choices via global variables.
Develop an experience point system that grants XP on enemy kills, tracks level with global variables, and displays current XP and target while unlocking skills or spells.
Create loot boxes with common to legendary rarities in GameMaker Studio 2 using gml, design chest sprites, random rewards, and one-time opens on chest interaction and level-up drops.
Advance your game making with GameMaker Studio 2 using GML by focusing on the core program, with planned additions of animations, audio, and ranged enemies.

This course does not cover animation or sound, we are focussing primarily on game maker language programming and teaching you pieces of code that you can then take and convert for use in your own games.
Here’s what some of my students have to say about my other courses:
"Lee ably shares a step-by-step means of becoming a profitable book publisher using Amazon KDP"
"Very helpful course, thanks Lee! Will be looking out for any follow-up courses Lee puts out to help us publishers become more profitable."
"Found it very useful as someone with almost no idea about how Kindle publishing works. The instructor is quite straightforward with not just information but also his own experiences and expertise"
"Straightforward, action-based and no BS (something hard to find in "make money online" courses these days lol)"
This course introduces you to the basics of making a platformer game by giving you the ability to take the lessons to your own games
