You will learn all kinds of things for how to run a coaxial cable (or main internet/cable TV line) through a ceiling or wall & how to install in the point of entry at your house or Condo.
You will be introduced to a fish tape & how to use one & what a fish tape actually is. You will also learn what a flexibit is & how to use. You will also learn how to hide the internet/cable TV line in a bedroom so you don't have to see it trailing along the baseboards.
You will also learn how to remove a loose & defective duplex electrical outlet & how to go about installing a new duplex electrical outlet so you will learn that in this video course too since the electrical duplex outlet needed to be fixed in order to plug in the new TV cable box & main internet box too.
I hope you decide to sign up for this course as I think you will learn a lot of new skills that you can apply for other projects around the house as well.
Why pay someone else when you can do it yourself?...& that's what my videos are all about.
Hey first off thanks so much for signing up for this course!
VideoJoe will be showing you all about the project for how to install a main internet/cable tv line & how he will be routing the cable from the garage (at point of entry) on up to a second floor guest bedroom.
You will also see the tools he will be using in order to complete this project such as an electrical fish tape & a flexibit drill bit system.
As you watch this video you may be formulating the thought process for a potential project you may be getting ready to work on & this video might give you some ideas for how to run your cabling as well as how to gain access into a ceiling or wall cavity etc. so keep a watch.
VideoJoe will be showing you all about his drill bit set up which is called a flexibit system & the bit comes with some extensions too & the drill bit end as well as a catch end where you can grab onto a romex electrical cable & pull back inside a wall for example.
This is a good little video as VideoJoe will be showing you how to use the flexibit as well as what other type of electrical projects you could use the flexibit system for.
As for other electrical projects, I just got done installing a ceiling fan in a downstairs bedroom so no attic above, & if I didn't have my flexibit I don't know how I could've completed my project!
VideoJoe will also show you what a cutin telephone/cable tv cutin ring looks like & what he will do with this while working on his project because he has an idea that he will need it so you will also be learning how to cut out drywall in order to drill a hole down in the wall using the flexibit as well as how to cut drywall in order to install a cutin ring.
On this particular video VideoJoe has something special to show you. He will be showing you how to remove an existing defective duplex electrical outlet so he can install a new one.
As for removing electrical duplex outlets does VideoJoe remove them the way he will be showing you? Sometimes but of course there are different ways to connect up wiring, etc. when working on electrical outlets but VideoJoe wants to give you a nice easy way for how you can remove this outlet on your own, even if you have never worked on electrical before. He will show you step by step & he has a feeling you can do it too.
Quite honestly this work kind of goes hand in hand with running & installing the internet/cable tv line since this particular electrical outlet will be needed in order to plug in the internet box as well as the cable tv box so VideoJoe has included this electrical duplex outlet work in with this video course so you're going to learn how to remove & install a duplex outlet too!
You will now be learning how to install an electrical duplex outlet on this particular video. Now are all duplex outlet installs done the very same way? No.
VideoJoe has a thought that you might be a DIY (do it yourself) beginner &/or might not have any electrical experience at all, especially for working on duplex outlets, so VideoJoe is going to show you a nice & easy way for how to install a new electrical outlet where you can feel like hey I can do this.
He will show you step by step what he does in order to connect up the wires to a new electrical outlet. Once he gets done I think you will feel confident in knowing that you can install an electrical outlet using this same technique.
Watch this video again if you need to.
Does everything always go perfect on a project? No! You will soon see even VideoJoe runs into issues now & again & that's ok. Just part of the learning experience!
Even though VideoJoe has run into technical difficulties I have a feeling he will figure something out for how to continue getting all the required work completed. Just goes to show you not all jobs will run smoothly & when they don't, it's time to step back for a moment, take a deep breath, & think about the different options you may have.
Then make a decision & go for it!
Now that VideoJoe has the fishtape coming out of the garage ceiling he will now show you how he will route the coaxial cable on over to the junction box where the main internet/cable TV line is coming into the garage.
He will also show you how he will cover up the holes in the drywall he had to cut in order to fish the wire down from the second floor guest room.
On this video you will also see how to go about drilling a hole through an existing fire black in a wall if in fact you want to fish the internet/cable tv down the wall above where a fire block might be in a wall.
You will also learn that if you're planning to start doing different types of electrical projects around the house, you just might want to invest in purchasing a flexibit system because they aren't cheap but they will save you money for sure.
Whenever VideoJoe does a project he always likes to figure out a way to complete the project without having to cut &/or remove drywall because then you have more work to complete like patching drywall, taping & finishing drywall, painting drywall, not to mention spray texture to match existing drywall finish & making the patch look like it was never there. Very hard to do especially if you are a DIY (do it yourself) beginner. So the flexibit system comes in handy for sure!
Here's something to think about too. If you start doing electrical type projects around the house, then you should have the money to start investing in a few more tools since you will be doing the work yourself you can now save the money that you won't be paying someone else to do & some of that money can be used towards purchasing additional tools that you can use forever more.
Even if you have to purchase an additional tool from time to time, you will still be saving so much money for not having to pay someone else for something you can do yourself. Hey that's what VideoJoe's video courses are for!
On this video you will learn how to properly run your internet/cable TV line from a bedroom on down to the garage & over to the main internet/cable TV inlet that comes in from the street.
You will also see how you can attach blank plates to any small holes you may have cut in order to fish the cable down using just a blank plate with little plastic anchors or using a cutin mud ring attaching a blank plate directly to the mud ring.
So much to learn on this video!
In this video you will learn all kinds of things for when you get ready to run the internet/cable tv line in a bedroom down next to the baseboard or even under the baseboard to hide the cabling but you have to do it very carefully as to not put any sort of kinks in the line because you could damage the internet connection or damage the cable tv connection so is there a right way & wrong way to run the line along your carpets? Yes!
You will also see how VideoJoe attached the cabling down in the garage & what he will still need to do to call it good down in the garage.
You will also get some tips for when you are setting up your internet/cable TV for first time use since things never seem to be that cut & dry when it comes time for the cable guy to get everything working properly as you will soon see.
Lots to learn on this video. Let's do it...
Hey VideoJoe always says the more you watch the more you'll learn & he's not kidding. You will learn a lot from watching this video for how to get the cabling hidden from view in a bedroom as well as how to get things connected up for use.
If you have to move a bed to get all your work done then make sure the bed goes back properly & here's your chance to reposition the bed if need be in order to have your bedroom workflow work for how you want things to work clearance wise.
You will also learn how to reset a tripped electrical breaker!
Hey you're in luck as VideoJoe is doing something to increase the value of this video course. He is including this extra video so you can learn a few more things having to do with existing coaxial cable location(s) that you may not want, at eye level sticking out of a wall for instance.
After watching this last video we have come to the end of this project!
I hope you have learned a lot by watching all the videos & reading all the attached written information so you can learn as much as possible for this video course.
I will add that I have some other video courses that you might be interested in so take a look as you never know.
Keep learning & here's something to remember. You can only learn so much by reading articles etc.. You will also only learn so much with watching video after video. Once you have the information & have read articles & watched videos, now is the time to get out there & start doing.
Yes you will make mistakes along the way & yes you will learn from your mistakes & just know the more you work at it the better you'll get with doing DIY around the house. why pay someone else when you can do it yourself & that's what my video courses are all about.
See you next time...
Viewers are in for a treat if they decide to sign up for this course. They will learn all kinds of things if they ever have to install a main internet/cable TV line, also known as coaxial cable cord for internet/cable TV transmission in a Home or Condo. PLUS viewers will also see how to remove an existing defective duplex outlet & how to replace the duplex outlet with a new one as this work is kind of part of this entire project so that will be included as well.
VideoJoe is working away in a Condo & they wanted cable TV to run in all the bedrooms as well as down in the main living area as well as having the main internet cable connection installed in the guest bedroom & low & behold when the cable TV company came out they could not find any good cable lines to work anywhere in the Condo for internet or cable TV! In fact the cable guy was there over 3.5 hours & could not get a good reading on any of the existing coaxial tv outlets anywhere in the Condo so what to do.
The cable guy decided to give VideoJoe a roll of internet/coaxial cable TV line so VideoJoe had to fish the new cable TV cord from the point of entry for internet/cable TV in the garage then run the line above the garage door then cut a hole in the garage ceiling & fish the cable cord up to the spare bedroom then run the cable cord over to where they were going to have the computer set up as well as copier & TV.
So viewers will learn a lot for how to run an internet/cable TV line from point of entry to a house or Condo on over to wherever they may wish to have the main internet/cable TV line terminated & in this case it will be a guest bedroom.
Viewers will learn how to use a flexibit in order to drill a hole from guest bedroom on second floor then fish the internet/cable TV line from guest bedroom down to garage then over to the point of entry for main internet/cable TV line coming in from the street.
Viewers will also learn how to cut in & install a coaxial cutin box & install blank plates for the internet/cable TV line & how to hide the internet/cable TV line being installed in the guest bedroom.
Viewers will also learn how to use a fish tape & see what a fish tape actually is how to use in order to fish the main internet/cable TV line down inside a ceiling or wall cavity.
Here's something else viewers will learn...the internet/cable TV box & main internet box will be installed in a guest bedroom & there is an existing electrical duplex outlet where the top portion of the outlet pushes into the wall & feels springy every time you put an electrical cord into the outlet so VideoJoe will be showing viewers how to remove the defective duplex outlet & install a new duplex outlet in it's place.
Viewers who sign up for this course will get their money's worth on this video course for sure.
