How many tools will be required in order to install a ceiling fan? Not that many. A Phillips screw driver for sure & standard slotted screw driver yes. A pair or wire strippers too. Maybe a pair of pliers at the ready as well & ah that's about it!
If you have an existing old ceiling fan & you need to remove that before installing a new ceiling fan, tool wise will be about the same to go about removing an existing ceiling fan. Just remember to make sure you turn off the actual electrical breaker to that particular ceiling fan prior to removing the ceiling fan.

How to assemble a hugger style ceiling fan.
Most ceiling fans I have ever installed are what I call a standard ceiling fan in that most ceiling fans are installed with a short (or long) extension down rod. That style of ceiling fan gets installed differently than the hugger style ceiling fan (thus this video course).
That type of ceiling fan, a small style ceiling fan mounting bracket gets installed first then assemble/attach an extension down rod to the new ceiling fan motor assembly prior to lifting the ceiling fan motor assembly up to hang & secure off the small ceiling fan mounting bracket.
In the case of a hugger style flush mount ceiling fan, such as what I will be showing on this ceiling fan video course, one of the first things you will be securing to the ceiling will be a large mounting ceiling bracket pretty much the top portion of the ceiling fan assembly prior to lifting up the rest of the ceiling fan then attaching the ceiling fan motor assembly.
Kind of the same only different! You might be wondering how you will be holding up the heavy motor assembly to then wire & screw up to the backing plate! The cool thing on the mounting bracket is there is a hook portion attached to it where when lifting the entire motor up it can then hang off the hook & the ceiling fan motor will be hanging up there kind of side ways (skewy) while you get to wiring up the ceiling fan.

This particular ceiling fan I call a hugger style ceiling fan since it kid of "hugs" the ceiling per say since it doesn't have any type of extension down rod installed on the ceiling fan rather the entire ceiling fan mounts & hugs the ceiling so this type of ceiling fan is kind of different than a standard style ceiling fan with the short or long extension rod on it, thus the video.

Limited tools & limited knowledge doesn't mean it's impossible to install a ceiling fan. Keep this in mind.
